I was told a whole inch is suppose to go in the buttox or the side of the arm. Is that true? Well needles to say I did it. It felt way worse than when a hot nurse does it for me. You are ok. Most people use 1 1/2 inch in the buttocks.

You want to go deep enough so that the oil stay in the muscle belly. It's really not painful, so long as you use the right pin guage.
