Ok, so I filled out a few questions on this questionnaire last week..nothing more than my e-mail addy, and my date of birth. Well, today I get an e-mail in response, targeting the two parts of my life that have been weighing the heaviest on my mind lately..almost describing them to the T. Very creepy. I haven't followed the link yet, but I'm sure there is some kind of fee to "learn more".

Can anyone explain this too me logically before the dip shit rabbit in me goes for the carrot?

Oh shit....The leaves are saying some wicked stuff today. You better go hide in a cave somewhere and hide for awhile.

I read my daily "horrorscope" in the paper. It is kinda freaky what it can touvh upon in one's life once in awhile.

IF you are serious about this stuff, go pay someone to read you. Might be kinda intersting to see what they say.

Thats the thing...I'm NOT serious about it. I'm a logical person...I need an explanation for everything. It just creeped me out that out of hundreds of choices, this online astrologer picked the two things that I think about the most having only my birth date and e-mail address.

i did this..i was think it was astrology-online or something like that. they ask for time of birth, location etc.....

it was SCARY accurate....not everything, but i mean, there was such specific shit in there it was shocking. It was very lengthy and dramatically altered my perspective on astrology. i'm a big believer in it now....

i did this about 3-4 years ago and still refer back to the report as i grow older to see if it holds true...and in 90% of the cases, it is. i showed it to some of my friends and they were in awe...just as a test to see if it wasn't just "me" or my perception of myself.

wild.

I have a Greek friend who read my tea leaves once. I was like, 'Hell, you know everything about me,how can you read my leaves and tell me something you do not know about me already?"

She freaked me OUT, She knew things about me from my childhood that I NEVER told her.

It does make you wonder.....Freaky stuff.

Interesting. I may follow the link and see what happens. It's creepy enough as it is...why not throw some gas on it?

jesus...i just went back threw and read it (haven't done so in about a year)
and it literally gave me chills....couple of excerpts, and yes, that's me to a TEE.

"you may be slow to make friends but you are even slower to give them up
for you value constancy and your own investment in cultivating a bond.
Reserve comes naturally to you for you are afraid of being hurt and relate
to people anyway more on an intellectual than emotional level. You put
your career and worldly progress on at least a par with your emotional
life and would prefer if the two could be combined in relationships so
that you benefit from the association in progressing your worldly aims.
Once you do decide on a friendship or relationship you will invest all you
have in it and it can easily be for life, so that if it is broken up you
will feel that it has been stolen from you rather than simply seeing it as
an emotional upset. It is difficult for you to show your feelings and your
emotions but this does not mean you do not have them. You are willing to
make great sacrifices to preserve and keep what you have"

"You are perceived as reserved, cautious, down-to-earth and in extreme
cases, a snob. Being out of the limelight in youth often necessitates
gaining confidence with experience. You take life seriously, applying an
efficient, punctual, orderly and moral approach to it. With an absence of
excitement, you can be pessimistic at times and depressed, yet you strive
to maintain a cool and self-contained posture. Income may be generated in
rather unusual and original ways, often through large groups or
corporations. You prefer to be alone when working on ideas and plans, and
probably communicate better on paper rather than verbally. A skill in
persuading and influencing people in power allows you to gain promotion. "

I think I'm gonna try it...I dunno how much it costs, but I'm sure I burned more money the last time I filled my gas tank.

dont do it!!

Why not? What could be more rewarding than finding out that you're going to be happy, filthy rich, and that all of your adversaries will suffer a slow, painful, and meaningless existence?

Cindylou thinks you peeps are on the express elevator to hell. The King James Bible is pretty clear on the subject of astrology and sorcery.:)

Will you do it for free? :qt:

Tell you random stuff that would apply to anyone's life if they thought about it hard enough? Sure!!

LOL.

I've done it many times when i was not sure of what direction to take in life.

most of this stuff is low class people tryin to scam you out of your hard earned money.

I was told things like this:

you have a two dark haired men in your life ; and soon you will get a ring. Well hell ; that would apply to just about any woman, she probably knows two dark haired men in her life, and she will probably get a ring eventually, look back and think ; hey ! She was right!! LOL.

cold reading is a scam(that)....especially anything depicting events or particulars in your life.

but astrology is not cold reading. two completely different entities

This was weird, like I said. Two VERY specific areas of my life were the main topics. I don't tell people shit for the most part. Any random person would have even less of a clue...thats why it got attention.

Do you belive that the stars and planets hold your destiny somehow?

You gave them your date of birth. What more coul dthey need? If they know your age, immediately numerous issues/concerns that are typical for your age group opo up. Mid-life crises, what to do after graduation, partying, dating, marriage, kids, etc. There are definite phases and people are all governed by the same human nature. So, given all that and your age, they can probably get pretty specific about something that has a 90% chance of being on your mind.

What about twins?

I'm a twin. :)

ah see...but twins are born at different times. slight alteration makes a huge difference.

my ex-GF did hers and had the wrong time a nd it was off......redid it with the correct time on her birth certificate and it was alot more accurate

Thats a good line of reasoning, for sure, but something was brought up in the e-mail that was nailed down almost to the exact date in time! Maybe it's not so much my curiosity, as much as it is my need for a logical explanation.

I may be more interested in finding the parts that aren't true, just so I can kick back and be able to say that they are full of shit.

I dunno, I'm still debating.

Who needs logical thinking when there's *dum dum duuuummm* Astrology! Cures any disease! Remedies any ailment! Brings riches to the poor!

I can't believe people still fall for this crap, lol.

:cow:

I find myself staying as far as I possible can away from this kind of mind reading crap. If someone read my mind right now they would run like hell!

I've never really understood why people find comfort in superstition; I can give reasons but I don't understand it.

Also, they weigh in on "aspirational" traits. Things that you'd like to think that you are in a perfect world, so you believe it.

Ding ding. So true. Good post.

Dozens of services, and only $25 each!!

... thinking the stars and/or planets control one's life is more absurd than the idea of a geocentric universe...

:cow:

Is that what it costs? I didn't even look...that's the site the e-mail told me to go to if I wanted to learn more about my future.

Yeah... take a closer look at how each "feature" costs money.

Astology isn't real. It's a very old scam that takes people's money.
