One arm chinup

Is there any benefit to doing one arm chinups?

[apart from showing off when the cute chick with the tight outfit is close to you ;) ]

I used to do this exercise until my shoulder injury kept me away from it and I like it for the lats, biceps, forearms and abs too (balance)

There might be some benefits. But I feel like it would be a waste of time and energy that could be used for rows or deads.

I know that I would probably hurt myself doing those for working sets.

No. How do you perform them? Many people believe they're doing a one-armed chinup when one hand holds the bar, the other their wrist. You still end up pulling with both arms.

i used to do these, but it's just a "hey look how big my dick is" exercise...

the only benefit is it is going to give the bicep a greater workout...

the way you describe it is correct, but you have to concentrate on not using the hand on the wrist to pull the weight... once you get tired that goes out the window though...

thats a real one arm chinup, using your other hand your wrist is NOT a one armpull.

and a 1 handedchin is a good way to force yourself to do weigthed chins, IMHO, cause most people can't do 5-12
