i waste a lot of time, but i have no choice, they dont want me doing other peoples jobs, i have to stay in my "area" just in case.

I work a 12 hour shift, my work can be completed in about 2 hours or so. The rest of the time I just BS with the guys and make myself available in case of problems. It's a union shop so I "can't help" them do the work or touch the equipment.
