well.......... that was "fun"
i have been doing hang clean and press for a while. but i got a little crazy. i was going to do a b fold type training where i would train for 3 days and do just events on day 4. but i cant afford equipment just yet, so i will take up Olympic lifts on my event day.
i tried a couple of the combinations people had posted on spatts' thread about them.
first exercise (i will describe them, as they no doubt have a name)
power clean/ into a front squat / into a military press / into a reg back squat / into a behind the neck military press.
115lbs for 3 sets of 3. each rep consisted of the order of exercises above.
next was:
power snatch / into an overhead squat / into a good morning / into a behind the neck press.
95lbs for 2 sets of 3.
last but not least.
deadlift to knee, then back to floor/ deadlift to waist, then back to knee / highpull from knee all way up, back to floor / full high pull from floor.
95lbs for 1 set of 3.
these were fun, really they were. i will start to go heavier in the mondays that follow, this was my first time trying combinations. i was strict on form and didnt use any explosion. just wanted to get a feel.
couple of things i noticed. 1) overhead squats stress the hips like there was no tomorrow, so all you powerlifters may want to think about that. 2) i much my technique on power snatch's was better than in high school doing them. it really feels good when you know you had the right technique.
