What is your point? In the Roman Republic prospective senators would tear open their tunic to show their war wounds as a way of proving their love of Rome. We have a representative republic so why don't you vote for the candidate that is willing to send their child to war? If the people won't vote for someone with "skin in the game" then they really don't care about it. I hear all kinds of noise about Afghanistan but why don't you vote for Ron Paul? Barry was a peace candidate in the primary and has only doubled down on the Bush foreign policy. When are you going to realize Dem and Repub are just two wings of the same party?
My Point is that He is from a Time when more people sacrificed more for their country (As stated in my OP).
Voting for someone that has "skin in the Game" doesn't prove anything. They may have skin in the game. But if their policies are shit, its a moot point. You hear all kinds of noise about Afg/Irq. If I dont vote for someone that doesnt sacrifice theirselfs or let their children doesnt mean "I dont care". See, you fail to realize that I HAVE SERIOUS SKIN IN THE GAME and that is the reason it matters to me. It's nice that you have an opinion on the wars, but I wonder if its just an armchair evaluation or from expierence?

Not really, you were asserting that people don't serve for a reason greater than whatever...I enlisted at 17 because it was a family tradition and a duty...I can trace military service in my family on my mother's side to a Private Cheney that volunteered to serve in the Revolutionary War.
