delete from C&CDatabase
where max(post_date) < (sysdate - 365);

commit;

That way we get rid of all posts where nobody has replied for a year.

(thats for oracle, but it should be pretty easy to run into mySql)

That'd be a really dumb thing to do. What if someone does a serach on topics they want to learn about. It helps to read the old old threads.

lol.... Thats just great Wiz.
But gimmie a break... maybe on the Ana/diet or training boards you are correct, but any old chat posts aren't used for reasearch purposes.

i think any chat posts should be purged from EF after 30 days. Save some space and EF a ton of cash.

The ONLY old thread worth bumping is the Frackal shirt thread.




(btw, for the nerds: I am fully aware that that code would not work as it dosent specify the thread itself, only the post date. To work you would need the thread ID and delete the children before deleting the master.)
