Old Geezer Gets It Up!

No, this doesn't belong in the Elite Player's Board.

For the first time in my life, I benched pressed 300 lbs. I'm 44. I know for some of you pros, this is probably nothing, but for me it was a major milestone. No juice either. So now this year, I was able to incline press 100 lb dumbells, and now work out regularly with them, and just started doing flat bench about three weeks ago, and got up 300 lbs for the first time. Anyways, just wanted to thank all you fellahs for the advice I've seen here. I attribute part of my achieving this personal record to this place.

Thanks, all.

P.S. Didn't cheat either. Full Range. All the way down, rested it on my chest for a sec and heaved it up. Only a couple reps, but its a start.

awesome progress bro. i have always been horrible at bench but home one day to hit that 300lb bench mark. Keep up the hard work!!!!

Man, it gave me a rush too. I never thought I could make gains like that. My diet isn't great, but its good. I also tried Dermacrine, Phyto and Sustain for 8 weeks. Not sure how much that helped, but I feel it did. Been taking Creatine, and about 200 plus grams of protein a day.

What I felt helped me more than anything, was simply being in a good gym with good equipment, more than I could ever have on my own, and being able to use the bigger dumbells for incline press, alt shoulder press, and DB rows. I think the skull crushers helped too. I think upping the weight weekly with all the dumbells, helped me a lot. Plus I think adding in leg routines over the past month, like these guys around here told me to do, also was part of that.

Great that you're still progressing but 44 isn't OLD! Coleman was winning Olympias into his 40's!

Just trying to turn back the clock. Now if I can drop some body fat, and get motivated to do more cardio, I'll be rocking. LOL.

Ugh... I know what you mean. I just switch from my preferred PL style workout to a BB cutter with upper/lower splits twice a week and cardio in between. The 20 rep sets just wear me out after being used to 3-6 reps power sets.

Been Gone Almost a Year. Always Loved This Site...and loved the advice I've gotten here over the past couple of years. I'm back, simply because, I want to get super serious again about my routine, gym time, and this place provides me with tons of motivation and advice. Thanks to all those that helped me last year.

So What's New With Me? Had to take almost 4 months off out of the gym in 2009 due to a company move, and reorganization, and a bit of tendonitis from overtraining. That sucked, I learned from it though. Been back in the gym for 4 months. My body didn't forget how to work out apparently, and my strength came back almost overnight.

Hit a personal best on the bench 2 weeks ago at 365 lbs. Still trying to get to 400 lbs before I kick the bucket some day. 45 years old, single still...Excellent shape...still looking for a good woman...HA HA

Update....just benched 370 lbs x 3, and then went after 380, did that x 2. Dudes I was with wanted me to try 400, but I didn't feel ready for it.

Pecs are sore to day, as after that I felt strong and did a killer chest routine.

I also should have mentioned that I am not on any gear.

Oh...I am gonna do a cycle some day, and would love to see how that helps me.
