I put mine on the blender,fill will hot water, turn it on after running i fill it with cold water and put the top on there it stays until i'm ready for it again, I wash it in the dishwasher every evening before bed!

You just make things complicated........

i use a nalgene bottle for my shakes

so the top screws on nice and tight and it doesn't burst open

use cold water in the shaker it won't come open hot water causes it to pop open becauseing of heat causing air to expand ie pop goes top

i use 1 qt containers with screw on lids, so i don't have this problem.

popping the top after some good hard hot water and soap shaking is like popping the cork off of a shaken champange bottle. i learned after the first one to aim it into the sink.
