Okay, This Pissed Me Off

Honestly, I don't get too worked up when someone suggests an alternative to something I think is good...questioning the status quo is always welcome...but then you need to come up with an alternative solution that's actually better than the status quo.

I agree, I have learned the most and made the most gains going against the status quo...from everything to cycle approaches, to the amounts and length of time I can safely run things....
I only get worked up when people fling mud at others, not to advance anyones knowlege of this game, but to advance their own pocketbook

It's interesting how they exploit Charles Poliquin for his reputation -- meanwhile, they fired his ass.

They fired Poliquin??? Wow, that sucks.

this seems to happen constantly on the boards, I can imagine the rest of the industry is the same
everytime I say something that goes against what people are trying to push or sell, usually without people knowing thats what they are doing, I get hammered by the "sellers". And funny thing is I never claimed to be an expert, I can only comment on whats worked for me, to get as far as I have, which is nowhere near where I want to be

Sometimes what's being "sold" is simply a point of view. Lyle McDonald didn't sell supps, but he wanted to be regarded as an expert in fat loss (ironic since he was kinda fat). He liked the "theory" of losing fat using ketones and that was his shtick. He then went about appealing to the internet geeks who were all about scientific facts but clueless as to where the weight racks were. I think Lyle was honest, just wrong. But his hubris wouldn't allow to any other opinion than his own. Nevertheless, the "theory" caught on and people swore by it. But of course, it never worked. Whoever lost weight using the ketogenic diet did so because they simply ate less calories without even realizing it.

Keep in mind also -- some people said that creatine was baloney when it first came out. 20 years later it's still around. What works, works.

true, I should never under-estimate people's need to feel important... the internet offers people a never seen before opportunity to create who they want to be...
that being said, its also a great source of knowlege

What I noticed is that TC still resembles a bitch ass sissy, despite using a picture about 10 years old. Where is the 100 lbs of muscle he claimed to have put on?

I think he looks fine, actually. He's not too huge, but I doubt that's his goal. He's also like 6'4", so he is likely much heavier than me without looking like it.

:laugh2:

The best infomation is like a good team -- a combination of old pros and young talent. You need visionaries and you need vets. Of course, some old vets are just stuck in their ways and some young talent are just flashes in the pan.

Yeah, TC gained 10 pounds on every new supplement they came out with. I used to get Biotest stuff for free and I can say honestly, it all sucked except for the OLD Tribex when it had avenacosides (the new version does not) The MRP wasn't bad but I didn't like the tatse of it so I gave it away.

Man you bodybuilder guys are a bunch of bitch ass whinny motherfuckers. Everything is always happening "to" you and nobody accepts any responsibility for their own actions. I swear, you'd think half of you guys were on your period. Take a fuckin' Midol.

Hey guys, this is my first post in over a month and I just thought I'd take the opportunity to lay some smackdown. Of course I'm only kidding. I just was jonesin' to flame someone and this was the 1st thread that I opened (Nelson don't think your special or anything.lol) Anyway bro, that really sucks. If it makes you feel any better this isn't the only business where people are such backstabbing assholes. However I do think the fitness industry itself breeds the human sharks much more actively than most.

Something that amazes me is when your competitors(who a very likely to be your ex business associates/partners) go out of the way to take you down, even when it doesn't elevate them in any way by doing so. If they were to put the same thought and effort into improving their own shit, they'd most likely be much better off. Yet these egomaniacal, self-serving, neutered-hyenas will spend hours upon hours fabricating attacks on your credibility , stealing your ideas, twisting your quotes, and shamelessly attempting to capitalize off of your name (positively or negatively)as much as possible long after you've parted ways. It's almost like nobody has any sense of pride or imagination anymore. Everybody steals everybody else's ideas and there's no such thing as guilt. It's like no longer is anything taboo and the low blows are dished out like flapjacks on Sunday Morning without hesitation.

I'm presently the new kid on the block as a personal trainer in my gym. The other trainers are so jealous and catty I feel like I'm working the prime shifts at the biggest titty bar in town. It reminds me of when Nelson first came on here. He didn't exactly get a warm welcome. I was impressed how he never broke stride(unless he's pussed out in the past month while I was on my hiatus?) when people attacked his credibility and in time I found his posts to be both interesting and insightful.

Anyway , I can totally relate to how you feel. In the past 3 months I've gained a decent PT clientele and I just had a couple clients place well in the state BB championships. I'm as busy as some of the trainers in the gym that have been there 5 yrs. Anyway, almost every night of the week some asshole throws away or steals my business cards and flyers off the gym desk. A few of them told people that I wouldn't last 1 month-not knowing that I once owned a successful PT Biz from 90-95. Then there's the pencilnecks that runner/fitness/core ball trainers that tell everybody that I take enough steroids to kill an elephant to discredit my knowledge and accomplishments. 1 or 2 of the trainers are guys that I've known for 10-15 years that are cool, but even the chick trainers I don't know will throw me under the bus somehow every chance that they get. What ever happened to being a professional?

Anyway, my point being is that ethics and egos simply don't mix well in an industry where everything is so superficial. The way I see it, the haters are just telling you that you are doing something right. In addition, imitation(which can be in the form of plagerism) is the highest form of flattery. If some guy wants to put his "by line" on your article, simply put, "you must be the shit". Let him take credit for something that you wrote that he apparently couldn't write as well as you could. Take that as a compliment.

I say the best revenge is to not even give a shit. You have your own stuff going to think about. Fuck those people.

I've found that it's best not to have too high of expectations of anyone in the fitness industry, this way I'm never that disappointed in their characters when they try to dry fuck my in my ass.

Anyway, hang in their Nelson. Roll with the punches. You know you're not going anywhere and so do they. Continue as usual because obviously whatever you're doing seems to be working. Otherwise they would've forgotten about you by now.

Keep the Haterade flowin Nelson and don't let em see you sweat.

Fuck me. I gotta chill on the sugar free Vault.

OK, now I'm about to go dish out a long past due "Retard Alert" on some dumbass's "Dianabol - methandrostenolone - only" or "I need a source" thread. m/

If there were nobody advancing their own pocketbook, the truth of the matter is that most of the information out there would really be garbage. The information a professional, who is well-paid, and who can spend all day researching and writing articles, is a far cry from the crap that is put out on the forums all day by amataurs.

Compare the profiles on steroid.com, MesoRX, Isteroids, steroidsprofiles.com, and sites like that vs/ the information you get for free on forums. There's no comparison in terms of research and quality. Volunteers and amateurs don't produce the level of work that professionals do.
