Okay so remember when I said I got two got job offers... PROBLEM

I went out to celebrate and got myself in trouble. Residential Burglary. It's a frivolous charge that will be dismissed or at the most get something like trespass. However, this has showed up on my background search and put my start date on hold as they research more into it. Is it safe to say that I can kiss these jobs good bye while the case is still open? I asked them if they wanted to see letters from my lawyer that assures this will not effect my job but they didnt seem to care much about that

basically, I think im fucked
 
Argued with some douchebag in a hotel room who claimed I assaulted/pushed him and threatend to kill him if he called the cops and some random shit. He says he is still threatned to go outside and is in a lot of pain. Some flaming homo basically. The video footage shows me talking to him but not breaking into his room or even getting close to him. The problem with this is that I was intoxicated and I think he wasnt and I was a bit loud which prompted his faggot ass to come outside the room to confront me. I talked to the hotel empployee and just left without hesitation. That little motherfucker I talked to called the cops and told them all kinds of fairy tails. I mean this is the worst of luck possible.

res burglary isnt much about stealing. It's being on a property with an intent to assault or threaten or some crap. Robbery on the other hand is stealing

Any business ideas anyone can suggest until i dig myself out of this one?
 
Next time don't get so drunk if you happen to be one of those loud aggressive drunks that gets into trouble. I am sure the other job isn't going to welcome you either. I would start looking for new job and this time don't go get wasted.

Theres no point in looking for a new job untill this is resolved which will take months probobly.
 
in short though, I am not denying the fact that I'm a serious fuck up. But luck is not exactly not on my side here either.
 
opiates seem to be the fastest route.....well....maybe not fastest, but looks like the most "fun"
self inflicted gun shot wound would most likely be quickest, but have I got a story for you
that involves three rounds and a 9mm....aim better that that guy and use a larger firearm

or you know, alternately wait till your done with court and if you truly get it dismissed or nolled, go job hunting then

I went through 6+ interviews with 5 different people for this job. It was gonna be a big break for me and probably a 6 figure income first year with a good base and a type of a job I like.
Not to mention they had 2 positions open with one needing 2 years of experience and the other 5 and the hiring manager actually hired me for the one I was underqulified for.

But hey, now its all down the toilet.

no more drinking for me. I can;t really drink responsibly because I hate the taste of any alcohol out there so I take a few shots to numb my taste and its all downhill from there. I drink like 2-3 times a month at the most

Hey you know what... I also got dumped by my gf of 4 years after she found out. I think im slowly fixin that up though. Whats even shitty is that she goes to law school in a different state and I flew down there a week before with an intention to propose to her. Decided I didn't really have a good plan for it and didn't do it. Now I can give 10k to a lawyer to fix all this up instead... well half of it at least. FML

I too have a pending, open case and I've been applying for jobs but I'm pretty sure an open case is an automatic DQ.

Prior convictions you can explain but open case, they don't care what the explanation is.

Hey is this the first time that drinking has led to problems? You ever looked into AA?
 
2nd time actually. It's not that I want to drink though. I just have hard time controlling it sometimes. Well I'll be honest actually I go over the edge fairly often. What got me in trouble is what I said in both cases. The first one was a complete joke though. My solution is just to cut out the alcohol.The only reason that hasnt worked before is that I hate being surrounded by drunks if im not drunk. So I guess I'll just stay out of nightlife since nothing good has ever come out of it anyway.
As far as jobs go, well I never said no to the second job I was offered, so tommorow is my first day and I took the background test on Friday. I will be upfront about it tomorrow morning and see what happens. Probably gonna get the boot.
What happened in my situation is that I was offered these two jobs prior I got myself in trouble. It just so happens that I had to take the background test like a day before my start date for both jobs. The first job actually didn't give me the boot right away, they asked me for more documents since the background they did on me had some wrong info on it. After submitting the proof of the mistake they still told my hiring manager that she can't hire me.
 
What sucks is that the only time I will be away from my job is for the arraingment which shouldnt take more then an hour. Case should be resolved shortly afterwords. with that said, I can't re-apply for the first job I received for a year and I really wanted it.
 
there will be none of that. I might have to do alcohol treatment and take trespassing as a plea in the worst case scenario. I'm going with one of the top lawyers in US which will be the biggest damage here, to my pocket.

no but i think this dude made it to top 1-5% criminal defense lawyers in US. He's sort of a popular figure around here but a real jackass. I talked to him for 20 minutes and he told me he wins like 70-80% of his trials. Next thing he says is that he doesn't think we need to speak until I have a check in my hand. In either case, I'll be posting on here periodically so there's nothin to worry about. I'll be alright in case you're worried
 
Just so you know, prosecutors have to charge you with the highest possible crime so you can negotiate it down. The reason some murderers walk is because prosecutors charge them with murder in first degree when it should really have been manslaughter. It get's pretty tricky I guess at that level.

The other job did require working with banks and CPAs a lot so maybe they didn't trust a potential burglar.

Hey I'm european. In europe you could possibly get ur ass whopped for this, the cops might tell you to go fuck yourself but no one will charge you ridiculous shit like this. Not in any other country I've lived. And I've lived in 4. In russia they throw u in a cell with a cold shower till your ass sobers up and kick you out on the street. Then you wonder why states have budget deficits.

On a second thought.... I will prolly pay some fines, then pay a shitload to a lawyer. The lawyer will pay more taxes. So in essence I'm stimulating the economy here.

and surprisingly the IT company that hired me where they have dozens of vendors comming in every month with new product demonstrations and what not, decided that I'm not a threat to laptops and servers and software that htey have laying around
