I like the new Ford (yes, I said Ford) 150's....I'd like a new truck....I have a '99 F250 with 83000 miles and still 2 yeasrs left on the loan. I also want a new Cobra. I was thinking about getting a Cobra once my wife's car is paid off (in a few months)....but now I'm wondering if I should just get a new truck. I really don't want to have more than 1 car payment...I have a basement to finish.

Then I thought....maybe I should just pay my wife's car off, then the truck, then trade her car in on a Jag.
 
The day after you get rid of your PU truck BB, you will desperately need to haul, pickup or move something that won't fit in a car.

Always have a truck or at least a second hand one...

FORD PU's have never been my choice, but I understand your brand loyalty.

As for me, I have become a Nissan fan.
I don't need a FULL size truck so the smaller one works for me.
 
Sounds like you need a Brat or a Baja - fortunately those are really good looking cars too.

Of course if you are willing to put some effort into it, there is always the El Camino - harder to find, more work to maintain, but bigger and says something more of the owner than "I have fantastic taste in cars and their design" - like "I also huff paint".

Nope - you would think that, but it was actually a Chevette that had been heavily modified with an acetylene torch, a case of Colt 45, and copious amounts of low grade weed.

It also depends which Jag he gets. If he gets the X-Type, then it is pretty much entirely a Ford Mondeo (not available in the States as far as I know).

But the higher up the ranks you go with the Jags, the less Ford they become.
 
Beastboy, the way it works on this board is that you tell us the price range of what you want, and we will throw out ridiculous cars that are way out of the price range.

We will all speak as if you are mentially challenged if you don't get said cars, but in reality, we will never own the cars and therefore are desperately hoping to live vicariously through anyone else's experiences.

I say you should pay all the shit off and down start up more loans - get something reliable and relatively nice, but also used and cheap.

I still like the Audi's...the jags are out of my league, even with the A plan. My wife really likes the Audi A6.

I'm a truck guy...I will always own one. Hence the reason I buy a Ford...they lead the league in performance as far as a American truck goes.....And I have really bacome a Mustang fan since they came out with a 390 HP stock car. I like this one too! :)

Damn, just get a GT 40 then. That solves all of your problems right there. That thing is like a pickup truck, but fast too. Except without the gearing for the truck, or the bed, or the big wheels. Also it is way lower to the ground.

I understand your brand loyalty for sure - the same way I have a really hard time buying anything that Ford has come near.

I have recently learned how Ford doesn't touch Volvo nor Jag as much as I had thought, and that makes me happier.

That said, I'm touching myself pretty hardcore right now. Lots and lots of touching.

You've summed up what I have been thinking for awhile now.

I have 2 nice reliable cars, both '99. I'm just debating whether getting a new truck, or hang on to mine and get a Cobra.

Well, while I would personally never want a Cobra, I think if it is something you want, you should get it.

You could get hit by a meteor tomorrow and die never having had a Cobra - and that would be tragic.

Also, get your girl a pony - you know she wants it.

Okay, Okay...I know you are waiting for me to ask you this. What is your problem with Ford? Really. I know they are not the best car manufacture out there.....and as far as their car-line goes....that plain sucks. Trucks are good....SUV's are okay.

SO THERE!!!

But since you have, I haven't liked any of their cars since I was 8 and really liked the neighbor's 60's era Mustang convertible... I think it helped that she was a hot blonde and wore bikini tops in it a lot.

Other than that, I have never liked their designs - the new GT40 is cool - but I'm still skeptical of it.

I never cared at all about cars or who made them until I worked in a lumber yard. I would have to load up truck after truck and if any truck broke down, we would have to push it out of the yard so that other trucks could come through.
The only trucks that ever broke down were Fords - new, old, didn't matter.

After that, I started paying closer attention to cars and who made them and one thing I always could come away with was that American cars are shit, and of them all, I disliked Ford the most.

That said, he did start that assembly line thing - so they got that going for them.

I just had to call some guy whose name was Danish Butt. I thought for sure it was a prank account since he didn't put any info down. It wasn't though and some dude name Danish Butt actually came to the phone.
