Okay, I believe in Miracles

yeah so you may see on the news in tonight that Oklahoma was hit hard by a lot of tornado activity....well about an hour ago my mom calls me on my cell and tells me the weather looks suspicious and I should head home (I was at the mall)....I don't think much about it, but I head on home....I walk outside and see a lot of wall clouds and rain starting and since I've lived in Oklahoma my whole life and no when a tornado is coming, I'm basically like, "oh shit"....this is bad as I'm 15 minutes from home....I hop in my car turn on the radio and then the sirens start.....I just start flooring it.....basically, I felt like my safest bet was to get home and get my car in the garage in the case of hail....so everyone is going crazy on the highway panicking....people are parking under underpasses and I'm starting to get a little freaked....I see storm chasers parked along the highway everywhere and I hear on the radio that it is headed straight for I-44 (which I was on at the time).....I floor it and am almost to the exit I need to head south to get on 1-75 to my house which would put me in the opposite direction of the storm.....then I hear on the radio as I'm passing over the river that "the tornado is now touching down at I-44 and the Pepsi plant"....I look to my right and see the pepsi plant and then I look in my rearview mirror and see the tornado....my heart almost stopped and as cheesy as it sounds I felt at that moment I was going to die, I was ready for it to pick up my car....I just floored it and almost went up on the side of the highway trying to get around this truck....I never looked back again even though i knew it was right there, I made my exit to 75 and I took of 75 towards my house going 95-100. There were cops everywhere but of course they did nothing as they were speeding like maniacs too....I pulled into my garage a few minutes later and my mom was standing in the driveway almost crying, she said that she saw the tornado come down and knew I had to have been right there about that time, she said she just prayed to God that I would be okay....

I don't know if you believe in miracles, but I sure do.

Being around a tornado is no fun. I have been around three of them in my life and hopefully no more. I have never been caught in one, but I have seen them pass way too close. :(

No need to be nervous now! You should be feeling kind of euphoric by now, you just beat the odds and came out on top. I'd be feeling pretty good right now. What's the news on the storm? Are pepsi prices gonna be going up any time soon? :mix:

lol....i don't think it did any damage to the pepsi plant as it is right on the river, so i think it is okay :).....like every oklahoma tornado it is here one sec and gone the next so everything is eerily calm again....hopefully the storms are over for the night although the news people keep going on about how the wall clouds are still there just not visible in the dark anymore....which of course is always comforting :) lol

Nah, freaky is rounding a curve on the highway, and looking up just as one crosses the road less than 200 yards in front of you, and the weather behind you looks worse than the weather in front of you. :worried:

It was weird to drive through that area and see all this pink insulation all over the place.

Good luck the rest of the night...glad to hear everything's ok so far. :)

you win....lol

i remember getting our windows blown out a few years back by a tornado and waking up the next morning and having a piece of the elementary school roof from down the street in our backyard....then we started walking down the street surveying the neighborhood damage and all the roofs on the homes to the east of ours were gone.....and yes it is true that tornadoes sound like freight trains....it is mind blowing

That was the weird thing. I never heard the one that passed in front of me. Maybe I wasn't paying attention or I was more worried about what was behind me, but to look up and see one all of a sudden appear is strange. :worried:

I'm glad that you're ok though. :)

tripleblonde, there are relatively few people who have experienced true terror. Welcome to the club. Now that it's over, what a rush, 'eh? :)

tell me about it! it's like for a sec, i felt like i was gonna die and then i guess the fear drove me to act w/out thinking or adrenaline.....one of the 2....i just started driving like a mad woman.....cut a truck off and everything which wasn't cool, (my parents even own a trucking company ironically enough) but nothing was stopping me from getting away from that funnel....lol

i believe in mercoles, you sexy thang, you sexy thang you

this wasnt a miracle, a miracle would be you hitting a little boy and pulling over to bury the evidence, and then your house get hit by the tornado, and your whole family dying.

then by you hitting the boy you narrowly escaped death by not making i thome.

-this was just some fast driving
