you wont need to convince him. He's a doctor and he's knows if its really what you need. If it's cystic acne that you have, he probably wont bother with prescribing tetracylin first (though he might). Just when you are talking, try to make it seem like its really affecting your life and how you feel...that way you seem more desperate. That shits powerful though, so only take it if you need to.

Btw, there is no cure for ugly, so you're fucked either way. jk.

As long as your blood work isn't fucked right up from the roids...he shoudln't have a prob prescribing it.

I had to go through the same thing. I got so fed up of my acne that the few days before I picked the shit out of them. Try to make them look really bad. Tell him you shower with antibacterial. Tell him you wash your hands. Tell him you have tried several drugs and nothing has worked. He should give it to you then. I went to my Dr. not a Derm.

Accutane made my back acne go away forever after the first cycle. After the second cycle, my face started to get better. Still not perfect but much better.

have you taken accutane before? if so i doubt he'll prescribe it due to the fact it your body builds an immunity to it. If you have never taken it before tell him you want to try it b/c this acne is ruining your self esteem and you want something to work fast and good and you heard that stuff does.. then he'll write it

there are many things to try before resorting to accutane.

bro ive tried trinoin which is retin A...prescribed pledgets, and the cream that drys skin...none worked...i think im going to tell my doc that is lowering my self esteem and that i heard only accutane is good for clearing acne...its like my last resort

dont say your depressed, thats the big deal with accutane making people depressed so im sure that maybe a red flag. Just ask for it, tell him you have tried everything else.
Or perhaps tell him you had it once before and it worked well and now you need it again.

i have bacne and some shoulder acne stuff also. I went to the doctor to see if she could give me ANYTHING to stop it from getting worse and she just referred me to the dermatologist because she said i have bacne, and shoulder acne which she said is NOT normal for acne...so she says its a "nodular" problem and i'd have to see the dermatologist. Such a shitty place...i went to the doc sept. 23th and the first opening they had for a dermatologist appointment after 3 (i am in school before 3) is october 18th... talk about system

if none of that worked then you are a good candidate for accutane.

If your Dr doesn't give it to you, find one that will.
