Oil feel below $94.00 a barrel, now how long before the price adjusts?

I wonder how much R/D is spent on developing non-oil based composites.

I work for an oil company and don't pretend to know all but this is right on the mark. Congress has demanded the oil and gas giants research for alternative fuel sources. Yes they are given HUGE tax breaks for the money spent and match the spending to offset the cost. The costs associated with r/d are so high, as failure happens far more often than success, that most of the majors are spending more than ever before but there's no end in sight yet. We do have the capability to convert out vehicles over to natural gas, which is far more abundant and cleaner to extract and burn. The problem there is removing the trucks from the roads to retool the engines slows the delivery of goods and sends the cost of the products through the roof as demand rises. It's inevitable that we have to bite the bullet and get off our oil dependancy but are you willing to pay the price to do it??
Also the largest driver of gas prices are TAXES!!!

It's because I sneezed in the direction of an oil refinery.

Stations in the south are running out of gasoline. This one is not a perceived shortage.

My question, for those in the know, will their be a quick fix to this? I realize refineries are down but that happens, is their refined products that had to sit for 2 weeks on the ocean waiting for the storms to pass and are now back to loading the storage tanks on the gulf coast??

As far as the company I work for, we don't have fuel storage tanks that are that close to the gulf, for obvious reasons. We do store crude in salt domes all along the Louisiana coast line and they are full and have been for quite sometime. Our company also has a LOT of shut in wells all throughout the Gulf of Mexico....oh and we own a car company as well!! Guess who we are!!;)
