Odd machines....????!!!!!!

b fold the truth

I was in Chattanooga, TN for about a month and had fun lifting there. There was a kid on some sort of a squat machine and he kept adding weight and adding weight to the machine and he began to look puzzled. He then asked me how to use the machine. I looked at it and told him that I had no idea how to use it...I had never seen one like it before.

Night Fly walks over and points out that he was adding weights to the wrong side of the machine and that he was making it EASIER where he was putting the weights...lol.

I saw a different leg machine on ebay and it just blew my mind to see it...what the heck do you use this thing for and couldn't they have made it a lot smaller...lol

Let's see if this works...

It is a 'squat' machine. The idea is to take the stress off of the hips and back. Wouldn't accidentally want those getting stronger now, would we.

Dumbasses.

i saw one of them at my gym... its been nick named "The life guard Tower". I asked one of the powerlifters there what would happen if i used it and i got the reply "we would dis own and not allow you to lift with us" .....

Its looks strange as hell.

holy hell, that would suck to fall off. worse yet, if you got stuck in one of the many pullies and levers and bars and contraptions?

You know the feeling you get when you do a high rep set of legs? The kind where you can't stand up but you still try to...??

Just imagine the normal dizzy feeling and not being quite all there...just as you stand up from this machine...lol

That has to be one of the most over-engineered pieces of equipment I have ever seen. Talk about intimidating. How the hell do you get up there; is there a ladder?

what the...! i've never seen such a complicated machine... if its supposed to be for squating I can't imagine getting myself off it after finishing my sets!!

There is more steel in that thing than the world trade centres.

One thing about this sport that really gives me the shits is the over-analysis and over-complication of what is essentially a very simple sport. If anyone can explain why you need more than a bar, plates and dumbells in order to build muscle, i'm all ears.

Well, no.

But then that depends on how you define 'gym'.

A hardcore PL or OL gym owner is usually either a competitior or a former competitor, so they usually do. But then these gyms do not rake in the cash from the women who just 'want to tone' and the guys who do not want to 'get to big'.

These people make up the majority of a gym's revenue, and it is easier to sell memberships with more equipment and less in the way of measurable results.

Rather like the way each windows 'upgrade' has the same old problems, plus new ones, but more features, so that makes it better, right?
