Never trust a black man.

Jk

BTW, all the issues leading up to what is unfolding did not start with Obama. However, he spent us into a deep dark hole much further than we could have gone to and still been able to recover with relative ease. Stress relative.

People on all sides of political affiliations have screwed us into this mess. Not just Obama, not just Bush. Parties' unwillingness to work toward a common good for the average citizen of this country has also backed us into a corner.

There's is way too much personal interest, too much backscratching, too much greed, too much ::) intentional manipulation, too much abuse of power.

This could really, truly screw over this country for decades to come.

People really have no clue that the government's debts and their irresponsible spending, and blatant abuse of printing money has created the perfect recipe for a complete shit storm that is starting to brew heavily. It's not more than a couple years out before this bites us in the ass.

Totally not a conspiracy, totally nit crazy talk. This is for real.

That's true, but it's not purely him to receive the blame. The president ends up being the scapegoat, but the blame lies with the Treasury, the governmental bodies that have personal interests that have driven the budget out of control.

This pattern of fiscal irresponsibility with OUR tax dollars has landed us in hot water. The problem is that the temperature has increased gradually over tine, and your average Joe hasn't taken notice or doesn't understand the ramifications. All of the sudden the kettle will boil over and we all get burned for this, and it's the fault of every last stupid bastard at Capitol Hill messing with our money in the most irresponsible ways possible.

Two things. First, this isn't an "Obama" scandal..dbuff was right on the money with his post. Obama's just another continuation of the two party system that has divorced us from rational fiscal policy for more than 30 years now. Hell in reality this may go all the way back to the early 1900's. But in any case this stansberry guy wants to protect you from this Obama irresponsibility for the mere price of $49.99. Hansel, that should have tipped you off. The guy is trying to sell panic investments to susceptible old people. "If you only do what I say you can avoid this fiscal implosion for $50"....time old scam.

There's a lot of credibility in the advice to invest in stable values such as physical precious metals.

Converting to foreign currencies is a risky game and if you do it in large quantities the government will throw you in prison if you don't report it, because they like taxing the crap out of anything they can these days.

And I LOL'd when Romney was accusing China of being a currency manipulator. Nobody is more guilty of that than our own government.

Our only hope (which is a slim chance at best) is to force the government to get smaller. Both parties rally around the alleged problems they're going to fix and use it to justify a larger, more powerful government.

I can think of three possible ways:

1) Revolution -- which isn't going to happen

2) We suddenly decide to have an intellectual debate about the size, scope and cost of government and collectively realize that the libertarian view creates the most freedom and opportunity for everyone.

3) The tea party nuts successfully block enough tax increases and kill-off enough of the existing taxes that we eventually starve the government of revenue.

Just guessing:

Option 1) Zero percent chance

Option 2) 2% chance

Option 3) 10% chance

But at least we'll deserve whatever we have coming. People deserve the government they get.

4) Make it so all televisions and video games stop working.

Option 4) 100%
