And the worst thing is, they are going to take the word "gullible" out of the dictionary. WTF!
Nobody is more guilty of that than our own government.
That's true, but it's not purely him to receive the blame. The president ends up being the scapegoat, but the blame lies with the Treasury, the governmental bodies that have personal interests that have driven the budget out of control.
This pattern of fiscal irresponsibility with OUR tax dollars has landed us in hot water. The problem is that the temperature has increased gradually over tine, and your average Joe hasn't taken notice or doesn't understand the ramifications. All of the sudden the kettle will boil over and we all get burned for this, and it's the fault of every last stupid bastard at Capitol Hill messing with our money in the most irresponsible ways possible.
Our only hope (which is a slim chance at best) is to force the government to get smaller. Both parties rally around the alleged problems they're going to fix and use it to justify a larger, more powerful government.
I can think of three possible ways:
1) Revolution -- which isn't going to happen
2) We suddenly decide to have an intellectual debate about the size, scope and cost of government and collectively realize that the libertarian view creates the most freedom and opportunity for everyone.
3) The tea party nuts successfully block enough tax increases and kill-off enough of the existing taxes that we eventually starve the government of revenue.
Just guessing:
Option 1) Zero percent chance
Option 2) 2% chance
Option 3) 10% chance
But at least we'll deserve whatever we have coming. People deserve the government they get.
