Does anyone know many carb are in 1 Cup of DRY oatmeal? Everytime I check charts or the bag its always gives how many carbs when cooked. Whats the difference does it really expand?
Thanks

Is there really that many carbs??? On the bag I have it says that there is 19g is 3/4 cup so how could there be 50-55 in 1 cup??

Yes, brands will vary but 1 cup of DRY measure oats is about 50-55 grams of carbs.

Your probally mixing up 3/4 of a cup cooked oatmeal, w/ 3/4 cup DRY measure.

Remember, whatever the DRY measure is it makes about double cooked.

Meaning, one cup DRY oats is about 2 cups cooked

How much is one cup?
I dont understand this way of measuring, i have cups at home and they are various sizes and volumes, so which cup is the right cup for measuring?

1 cup is 8 fluid ounces
or 250 ml for metric (ie based on decimal system not some archaic illogical system)
Why arent we all on metric now anyway??

cals in oats

slow or quick cookn?

i checkd the package of quaker oats large flake(slow cookn, 10-15mins)...

-which by the way many ppl dont cook well enough 2 digest easily and it has a consistency more like that of cardboard, ugh..

per 30g (dry) 1/3 cup

114 cals

pr 4.2g
fat 2g
carbs 20g
sugars .5g
starch .5g
fibre 3g

so 1 cup 60g carbs/cup
