Ok so like I mentioned yesterday , im in Silver Springs right now. I believe the metro is right down the block from my hotel. I did a search on the metro site and this is what I got back. I want to go to see the White House.

Take RED LINE Rail towards SHADY GROVE --------Arrive FARRAGUT NORTH METRO STATION .

does that sound right? and from the White house how do I get to the Lincoln memorial?? are they close to each other?..I could always call the front desk to I guess.

Once your downtown you should be able to pick up a city/site seeing map somewhere. It will usually plot out all the museums, white house, etc. There are street vendors that hand 'em out and I think you can pick 1 up once you get to a museum.

Hmmm, that's a bit of walk.

Take the Red Line towards Shady Grove. Get off at Metro Center. Transfer to the Blue Line and get off at Federal Triangle. Yes, its only one stop, but this is the easiest way for someone not familiar with the area. When you get off at Federal Triangle, cut through the patio of the Ronald Regan Building, walk towards Pennsylvania Avenue and make a left on Pennsylvania Avenue.

Keep walking straight, there will be signs leading you to the White house (its off of 17th street).

The Lincoln, Washington, & Jefferson Memorials are along Constitution Avenue (which runs parallel to Pennsylvania).

You picked a great day for site seeing. It's beautiful out. Have a nice time. Hey, Lumberg works right across the street from the Vietnam & Korean War Memorials. (Constitution Avenue)

yea . but I gotta wait for this broad to finish her conference around 5 or so. She is running it so I have to wait until its completely done. I'm to lazy to venture out during the day anyways. plus she is bringing me like 5 free lunches from downstairs...woot woot.

Time to start my lunchtime runs from the Pentagon to the Lincoln Memorial again. I love running past the tourists, they motivate me. Once when I was trotting down the Lincoln Memorial steps sweating and feeling like crap I heard an old lady tell her husband: "I wish I could move like that."
