NYC for a visit

Terrible idea!

I go there for work often, but did a weekend getaway there this (long) weekend.

It's smelly, crowded, long lines, tiny homes & apartments, bad service... generally unimpressive.

I can't understand why someone would ever subject themselves to such a low standard of living.

it also has some of the best food, nightlife, shopping, and cultural attractions in the country

i actually agree with all your complaints about it, but still love nyc

If it werent because of my many dogs and the fact that my husband wouldnt live there I would be there right now instead of FL

get ready for a cost of living increase of epic proportions. dont think you can afford nyc

nyc is my next spot to move...i love congestion, grime, not having to drive, bitches that look good...

No real need for a cutter's there. The sidewalks were cutters. Most geigh guys I've ever seen in one place by far.

No h8 here either, I just don't see why they walk down crowded streets with their hands locked together trying to make a statement with every step. It's not like I wear a t-shirt that says: "I lub teh vag" on it.

That would be negative on the bitches ghostrider.

Plenty of thick ones there. Plenty of skinny ones. The fit ones w/pretty faces were very few and very far between. In the evenings a lot of girls fixed up but you can tell they'd look scary in the morning.

But I think a straight guy could do well there. In terms of looks, most of your competition will be wearing Armani jeans, an oversized Gucci belt, Prada half-boots and have 6.5 lbs of gel in his hair.

lol Plunkey. Having grown up there I learned to love it. but would I want to live there? Honestly no. long Island is where people from NYC eventually move onto. Close enough to use the best city in the world, but also be able to live in a beautiful neighborhood. Costs a ton to live there for a reason.

We spent Saturday on LI for a cookout -- off 256 if I remember correctly.

The houses were so tiny and packed together. It was considered a decent three bedroom house but only had air conditioning in one bedroom and the downstairs living room.

I personally need a little more space.

Not sure where you were. The south shore is the poor side and the north shore is the "gold coast".
The south shore is where the ocean beaches are and the people have a trashy staten island like accent. The North shore is far different and the homes are worth a ton. I bet you would love Huntington.

This is what I'm getting used 2. Growing up in the midwest, and then going to grads in Pleasant Hill CA, the transition to Tribeca and the Hunter College area as my living spaces well, it's gonna take time.

Don't need picket fences, but still... it is a transition.

Love NY Titties. Living there would definately be a big step back in lifestyle.

Re. lifestyle, it depends what you're looking for really. I have family in Manhattan, they live/work there during the week and head upstate to their place in the country on the weekends.

Quite normal. I grew uo in Queens and would go to the catskills for much of my summers. Gave me a titally different perspective making friends with kids who lived on farms, lol.
