Now's the time to buy UAL stock

With it still meeting all NYSE requirements, it will be trading as usual. What are your thoughts on purchasing this stock.

I see potential for recovery, and purchased at 1.02.

Coments...

Well, if they go through the bankruptcy process, stock is worthless, since it is re issued.

They were able to secure DIP loans but the real reason for filing bankruptcy is to void the union contracts, so I suspect that this will go forward.

As such, buying seems pretty fuckin dumb to me. But you never know.

yes, but they are allowed to stay on the NYSE while under bankruptcy protection. All has been announced already. it is because of this that today the stock rose yet again.

They will go through the bankruptcy process. It is just a matter of time. Then they will issue new stock, essentially making yours worthless.

You could make money trading UAL, possibly for a little while, but you have a 100% downside and a somewhat limited upside.

Only my opinion. I was thinking of buying too, changed my mind

Zen

that is untrue. The NYSE already stated that as long as it meets the financial requirements, which it does, it will continue to be traded as is. check yesterdays wallstreet journal if you don't believe me. As a shareholder, I've been following it quite closely. The reason it has been recovering for the last two days is because of this.

lol

Remember back in the stone age when investors would put their money into companies with good reputations who would grow and prosper for years to come and bring back a nice return?

Those damn investors were so stupid. Putting lots of money into a company going into bankruptcy though... there's a great investment. I'd better call my stock broker and buy some Enron.

stocks like ual are not investments in the traditional sense...it is just like turning tricks :fro: also, keep in mind ppl with short positions made a killing with ual...

peace

I know they're not investments in the traditional sense, hence the reason I can't understand people putting their money into a company going broke. How is that different from slapping $5 on a blackjack table? At least in BlackJack you know there's a chance you'll win... when betting on a company on its way down the tubes you know for a fact that you're likely going to lose.

distanced, listen to SofaGeorge. Dumb shit means dumb shit.
