Now that N. Korea has tested their Nuclear thingie

but what do they plan on doing with it if they are "testing" it?
they arent trying to make their land more fertile

agreed. It's all about the economic allegiances. If NK was buddy-buddy nobody would give a rat ass they have nukes.

In a perfect world, NOONE would have nukes, then we wouldn't have the issue of who press the button first... however, since we have all these countries with nukes, they obviously don't want anybody else a member of that club, since it would "raise the risk"...WTF? we are risk already.

Disarming never works, since you never really know who is holding one or two just for shit and giggles "Ohhhh, you thought I got rid of all of mine???"

The whole thing sucks, like we need more tension.

yup, i mean if they are just trying to let the world know "dont screw with us because we have bombs", they arent doing it the right way. They are openly DARING someone to mess with them
I think the UN should stop any inports going into their country until they disarm them or put them away, but in the end, the only people that will suffer will be the innocent people.
This dude has freakin gave his people a death sentence, when he will be safely underground in a bunker that cant be touched by nukes, and thats sad

I wish we had a way to make sure htey were just making power with this enriched uranium... and then disposing of it properly

The problem here is that NK is beligerant and has sold technology to people in the past. Expect widespread proliferation if we let them keep their nukes.

The real issue here is China. They need to back NK down. If China said "we wash our hands of them", we could let SK and Japan clean them out.

If China doesn't want to back off, we should sell nukes to Taiwan :)

Good point.

There is always some nutcase dictator somewhere in the world who would do the dirty work of starting WWIII for North Korea.

Klue, out of respect for our e-relationship I will refrain from commenting on that approach to foreign policy and I will just say that is the same as shooting people that you know carry a gun, "just in case".

huh? I still believe is a good analogy, please elaborate.

Let's say you shoot the town wife-beater because you KNOW he beats his wife at home and you know he carries a gun... so you could say it's a crime waiting to happen.

Still does not make it right

btw, I'm totally against nuclear proliferation and even more against dictatorships. The only way left here are sanctions, but if you look into it, what more sanctions can you apply to NK??? They are totally isolated as it is

its not that simple, there is so much at stake, maybe millions of lives and the way we now live. I dont agree that we should always go fuck with other nations but if you knew the town wife beater had a gun, and he wasnt supposed to, you would go take it from him, but in this case the town wife beater is not in your "juristiction", but he poses great danger to our wives. what do you do, at some point you cant just wait for for shit to go down.
its very complicated and im not saying your wrong, its like klu said, damed if you do damed if you dont...
