Not Ready for Real Gear...

Long time lurker, first time poster. I'm too young and not experienced enough for gear, but want to try a supplement stack. I was wanting to try the Lean Muscle Stack from PP and putting the Dianabol supp from zoelabs. I went through and found some posts about it and followed digitalizedsoul's thread really closely. I just wanted to get your views on this, as I'm also looking at Omega's Project. :chomp:
Stats:
HT:6'3"
WT-183
Age-20
BF %-11 (bioelectrical impedance)
Training for a year after taking a year and a half off due to ACL surgery.
Goals- Strength, gain back speed (football), and then size. I have the proper techninque and ability to play D-1 or D-1 AA, just not the physical aspect.
Any questions or views will be appreciated.

I'd recommend the UNLEASHED/BIG BLAST/ VIGOR stack with LOTS of food. That's as close to being on gear as you'll know.

At age 20 I wouldnt really start the prohormones yet.

AGX Sports, AMP02/Lipoflame/RAW MCC is a GREAT START for LEAN GAINS, FAT LOSS, Endurance, and Strength!

I'll look into those. My friend and I actually bought your ebooks a long while back when we were thinking of juicing. It made us decide to wait if we ever did juice. I like the workouts a lot.

You do realize nothing I recommended is a prohormone, right?

listen to Nelson--the man knows his stuff--and stay as far away from anything by Zoelabs--junk, just plain junk.

well then, i will just take my toys and go home. :splat:

LOL :p

No seriously dude, try Nelsons stuff and add in some of the AGX Sports products. Give them both a try, they will all help to get you to your goals.

Alright. Just checked the proteinfactory products out. Seems like approx $120 a month so price is good. But can big blast and unleashed be used constantly or must they be cycled. Vigor says it can be used indefinately. And what kind of results could be expected? I know that is a vague question and there are a ton of variables, but I was wondering what you had seen first hand.

Yes on all accounts.

And as with gear, there's no way of predicting results. It comes down to how hard you train and how much protein you eat and your genetics. All 3 products have a direct effect on strength.

+10 unleashed--i swear by the stuff.

I am 24 and three weeks ago I tried a pro-hormone for the first time ever. I thought about gear last summer but after lots of research decided against it.

I have dabbled into a lot of supplements over the years. I have come to the conclusion that 90% of them suck.

It seems like the guys that are taking like 10+ supplements at a time are always the smallest. I think they have the wrong idea. Supplements should be used to "supplement" your diet, training, and rest. Your diet, training, and rest shouldn't "supplement" your supplements.

Train your ass off, get proper nutrition, and get rest. Protein, creatine, and a multi-vitamin are about the only supps that I truely believe in and they aren't miracles supps, they just improve diet. See where I am going with this?

I wouldn't waste a lot of money on gimicky supps. The whole reason that I even considered gear was because supps were just as expensive. It's ridiculous.

Stick to the basics for a while and see where that gets you. If you do decide to invest in some supps try some from the sponsors on this board. They have a pretty good reputation.

i agree--but i have to say that i am really happy with some of the supps from some of the sponsors of this Board---

I know. I fell into the muscletech trap. Spent over $240 on a stack, which didnt do shit. I've just seen some really solid loking results from some of the stuff here so I wanted to see what would assist my training the most. My diet is nowhere near perfect but its the best I've had it yet, and still making changes every 2 weeks or so. When I tried to make a massive change in my diet at one was when I couldnt handle it.

is that u in that pic? and ur natural?

Just for the record, I've been an activist against bogus supplements for years and have written about it extensively. I used supps mostly as health enhancers and felt that anything that claimed to build muscle was bullshit.

I still feel that way, BUT, have come to realize certain substances can certainly give an edge in the process of building muscle. For example, if something lowers SHBG, it won't raise testosterone but it'll make more of what you have more bio-available. That's an advantage. If something increases red blood count with adding toxic iron, that's an advantage. If a protein is more concentrated and more absorbable than what you can get from food, that's an advantage. Creatine, natty anti e's, stims, thyroid, diuretics -- they're all proven to help.

I don't consider prohormones a supplement because they don't "supplement" anything. They're just weak, shitty drugs.

So to me, it's dumb to even debate it. The good stuff has been proven to work and to deny that they don't is just untrue. Will they turn you into Jay Cutler? Of course not. Bodybuilding Guru Vince Gironda, a lifetime natural, felt that concentrated food and herbal supplements were the key to taking a physique to the next level. And he didn't even sell them! At 50 years old he looked better than 95% of the guys half his age on this board who are juiced to the gills. I often wonder how he'd feel about some of the stuff available today. My guess is he'd be thrilled at some and appalled at others. (Like the Muscltech scammers).

Do you NEED supplements? Only if you want that little advantage. Hell, you don't NEED steroids. But why not take advantage of whatever you can? The thing is, supplement enhance health while steroids can damage it. THough some supplements are flat out garbage and the pricks that are selling them are thieves in my opinion. What do you use? How much drugs? How much supps? As a bodybuilder you have a big responsibility as to how you want to balance that out.

all you need bro is 6-7 high protein meals a day along with:

multi vit and min
protein shakes
creatine (cycled)
pre wo supp (amp02 is the best)

anything else is a waste of time and money at your age bro
get a solid training program, sleep 8+ hrs a night and drink 2-4 ltrs of water a day and watch what will happen

enjoy

Agree with almoost everything. I've been working on my diet for several months and it has helped a lot. Diet isn't perfect as I said, but I make an improvement every other week to see how it helps and affects me and to keep the diet from driving me insane. As for the pre workout supps, are they really needed. I have no problem getting amped for the gym, and I know a lot of them will make you burn extra calories. Thats why I've stayed away from them. I'm an ectomorph who has trouble keeping food down when I try to eat a lot. If you guys say it will be more of a pro than a con than I'll get one of the sponsor's ones , but if its only needed for energy than I'm fine without it.
