nose flakey steroids the cause?

so for the past few months my nose on the side flakes when i wake up and when i rub them off it turns red. Im wondering if this is due to hormonial imbalances? I know dandruff can be caused by hormonal imbalances and thats what it kinda is my nose has little flakes.
