Non-caffeine Products for ENERGY

I need some advice on what supplements are out there that are NOT caffeine/ephedra based that will still give you a jolt of energy for work-outs??? My adrenals are shot from taking ECA, caffeine, ephedra...for over a year straight prior to work-outs. I love the rush BUT my adrenal glands are SHOT! Thannks for any input!
 
Red panax ginseng extract. Get the liquified 10ml or 20ml bottles they sell at the liqour store. It's not as strong as the ephedra, but they work. I use them during the summer sometimes for a little kick when i'm dieting and doing cardio. Should be about a buck each.
 
How about n-acetyl-tyrosine? Haven't tried it yet but sounds interesting. It's an amino acid that is converted to dopamine and then norepinephrine. Like tyrosine but apparently kicks in quicker.
 
If you want to avoid all of those stimulants altogether, but want a pre-workout boost, try TwinLab's Carbo-Force. I'm pretty sure (better check the label) that it does not contain any of those stimulants. It does have 100+ grams of carbs, some quick-burners and some slower. I'll drink one when I get to the gym/early in my workout if I haven't been able to time my eating just right preworkout and I need a boost. It really seems to work!
