in the geigh dudes who wears the fruity jeans and lost his gloves thread , the overwhelming majority ripped on him and said they dont use gloves...are yall for real?...damn, i go to this ghetto gangbanger gym with kids that will kick your ass six ways to sunday and they (I) almost all wear gloves.basically, what im saying is we are some tough mofo's and we all wear gloves... :worried:

I wear gloves on chest/delt day when I remember too; straps on back/bi day and nuttin on leg day.

They are in first right now, Dodgers are now in 3rd (1 game behind ) :(

Dodgers have been stinking it up, I hope they get it together soon.

I hope a foul ball hits you in the head, oh I mean, have fun bud ;)

I've never tried them, what does wearing gloves accomplish?

no callouses, which I don't really get anymore anyway.

lmao. I did when I first started, then I looked down and saw that I had a penis, so I stopped.

For real, I don't really have a reason to wear them. I train grip, so I don't want to c heat that with gloves. I could give a fuck about my hands being rough - I am a man, they are supposed to be rough.

that's the same that I do, except I don't use straps with biceps, I just use gloves. Also, I use elbow and knee wraps to protect my joints. I'm young, but mine already hurt :(

My gloves have wrist support, that's why I use them, I've fucked up my wrist a bit before. :whatever:

pussies.

I bet you guys use that neck pad to squat too.

Just playin, gloves or no gloves, we're still boys if you're lifting hard.

just makes it less painful for me so I can focus on moving the weight

Was wondering how long it would be before someone would notice her clothing. At least she's not wearing pansy-assed gym gloves. oops, I'm sorry, Fitness Club Gloves.

i guess when you have never fought your way out of a paper bag in your life, you measure toughness on gym accessorries.

i was just curious as to the responses, call me a fag all you want, i'll be the fag with smooth hands while im fuckin your girl.

no gloves, limited strap use and lots and lots of chalk.

I don't wear gym gloves because they're uncomfortable for me. Not because of what someone else will think. I wouldn't be intimidated either way. I look at someone wearing gloves and think "There's a man who prefers wearing gloves to lift."

As for the callouses. Put some gojo on your hands and they won't be so rough.

I train with gloves except on leg day for obvious reasons. Matter of fact, my faithful Harbinger's are starting to fall apart in the palms, so it's time for a new pair.

I don't wear them to make a fashion statement...I train at home, so who the hell am I trying to impress?

I don't wear them to protect my hands or keep them looking nice...my hands are beat to HELL from a lifetime's worth of hard work. Gloves won't help now.

I wear them because they're comfortable, and give me a more secure grip. My gloves have wrist support straps, and they help prevent some wrist pain during benching.

I couldn't give a phuck less what someone else thinks...I wear them because I want to.

They call that thing "the tampon" at my gym.
I could care less if someone uses gloves.. I don't.

I've always worn gloves. My hands get so damn sweaty and chalk is too messy.

You must have a very permissive gym then. My gym is not clothing-optional. Please don't ever post squat videos.

grip strength will never be sacrificed with gloves, ever.

My callouses are my gloves.

no gloves for me. I tried them for a while and one day i for got them and everything hurt because my hands had weekend. I dont like to be dependant on things.

I used to wear gloves all the time.....

I just feel now that I get a better grip if I don't use them......I use lifting straps though for alot of my maxes.

i love my callouses as well as being black and blue from wearing a bench shirt..
I use chalk for major lifts..or i use straps for any heavy assistance work but never for deads

persaonlly i dont really care if someone wears gloves or not i just find it amusing when Joe BB'er gets out of his truck and is going to hit some biceps and he already has his weight belt on..what exactly is the belt doing????

Most people use the weightbelt as a crutch now, not what it was designed for.

I don't like bench shirts either, I see them as cheating. I rarely use gloves, but I'll use lifting straps for max shrugs etc.

my point is what is a weight belt going to do for you when your doing curls..a belt should be used to push your abs out against to creat interabdominal pressure (IAP) especailly when pulling or squatting..

no need to debate whether a shirt is cheating..if youre a BB'er theres no point..in compettiton bench where the federation sets the rules that govern the aspects of the shirt i dont see how it is cheating if the federation deems your equipment legal

I'm not talking about PL rules.....I'm just saying in terms of strength, a shirt is cheating. I could never wear one and consider it my strength, even if it did help me push more. Anything that takes strain off the muscle system and aids through gravity or physics is cheating.

see i didnt want to debate you..have you ever been in a shirt more than once? its a different kind of strength..

answer me this lets just say you put a shirt on and can bench 500..now using the same shirt how are you going to increase your lift so that you can bench 600? or 700? you have to get stronger no? otherwise everyone would be setting WR's..it stil comes down ot increasing your strength..its a specialized strength..its te same thing with a squat suit..

hell why arent steroids considered cheating in bodybuilding? even PL'ing?

My gloves give this hell wrist support. I found in a few exercises (including bench) i would ALWAYS twist my wrist in a certain way which would bring on a pretty bad pain. So it would normally be my wrist that gives way first, not the lack of strength in my chest. With these gloves i do not have this problem anymore and can lift more and do more reps.

Here we go again.....

If a shirt is allowed in a competition.....its legal.

My problem is that the HUGE numbers that are being generated these days with the triple ply adamantium/whatever blend shirts seems to "cheapen" the lift in some way.

Maybe cheapen isnt the right word.....

lol i was waiting for you to show up
no one uses triple ply in comp..besides anyone thats knows anything about gear more layers is not better..

do you not agree with me though that assuming you or I bench 500 in a shirt you HAVE to get stronger in order to bench 600 in the same shirt..
I have top of the line bench shirt and squat suit i dont squat 1,000 yet but you can be damn sure im gonna kill myself trying to get to that level..how? by getting stronger, raw strength..without raw strength you have nothing

Sure...raw strength at some point has to go up, otherwise the lift will stall in spite of the shirt

Gloves, straps, hooks, bar pad for squats and a couple of fluffy pillows for the midget spotters I have hired to rack and unrack my weights.

Yeah, people at my gym call it "the pussy pad".

Nothing wrong with not wanting your hands rough as hell.

If I dont wear gloves my hands get so rough and scratchy that it hurts my gf.

Wouldn't be caught dead in them.

I use gloves when I can and I still have calluses on every finger.
 @ the over-mucho shit.

I don't see AAS and shirts as even remotely the same thing....

I think "cheapen" is the exactly the right word. I'm not a professional PL, so I'm on the outside looking in here, but when I lift heavy, I pride myself on my negatives, they are your stability and strength. Using a shirt to me is taking away from what you've worked hard for and giving in to some degree to the sport and keeping with an even playing field. I just don't like shirts, never have.

Shirts take some of the integrity away from the sport.

That is why I always wear gloves, I know that some women like a guy with rough hands, but I woould rather appeal to the women who like the soft hands.

and you live in Detroit?

Bro, do what you do, regardless of women.........why haven't you learned that lesson?

Don't change yourself for a woman, don't make decisions based on women.....that will lead you wrong every single time.

If a woman wants to fuck, your calloused hands will not be the yea or nay.......

Living in Detroit you should know these things....
