Also, I agree with Rex, the Osprey is horrible. They need to bring back the Crusader and at the least, pump the funds now not being used for the comanche to bring back the Crusader and fund the F/A-22 program, so more aircraft won't be cut.

Can anybody explain to me why we need a STEALTH helicopter? Stealth is good technology, when used in the right application. Putting stealth / LO in a helicopter is an absolute fucking waste.

It would be harder to hit with radar controlled AA, be easier to insert deep into enemy territory to strike moving armored columns etc.

Radar controlled AAA is rarely used to down helicopters.

Heat seeking weapons are a prime killer, as well as unguided AAA.

The Army didn't need a stealth helicopter. The new Army leadership knows that. The Army needs a helicopter that is more survivable in todays environment. To do that means getting rid of the stealth capability. So.... bye bye Comanche.
