Hmmm, that's a somewhat ethnocentric point of view don't you think? I am as American as they come, but I lived in Europe for 5 years in my early 20's, and I can tell you for a fact that Progressive is by far the most popular genre of music in all of Europe. I can't speak for the Asian or Latin nations but I suspect it is quite popular there as well.

By the #'s I would agree with NickyE3 -- after all America makes up a very small % of the world's population.

I'm with you NickyE3 -- I would very much like to see Progressive become more mainstream in the U.S... and I actually plan on pursuing this actively soon. PM me if you're interested in hearing more.

That's true. Just look at the Love Parade in Germany along with other locations. Here is a list of the number of people attending this electronic event year after year. Scroll about half way down.

Progressive has its place in the American music scene, but I highly doubt it'll ever become true mainstream. I have no problem with that at all. Europeans do it better anyway.

Just my feedback here,

over here in the UK;

Dance music is what all the mainstream kids listen to, you always hear them playing it from their phones, annoyingly on buses, alot of it gets edited by kid DJ's who seem to wreck it. But I'm certainly a fan of the culture. It's BIG! It's usually the other kids who seem to like American music like Blink 182? I myself like the uk house scene and also american rap. I'm sure how those two are linked.. But in europe, trance rules.

I love trance/techno/house music and lots of people look at me funny when they find out I listen to that type of music.

I think it is funny that alot of the popular music on MTV contains trance-like synths, sound effects and whatnot. If you were to listen to the instrumental version of the songs they are quite trancy, but have a lower BPM than most trance music.

I wish that most trance/techno/house would become a little bit more streamlined in America, especially where I am located.

I am into the hard techno... I love artists like Dave the Drummer, Chris Liberator, Mark EG, Adam Beyer, Glenn Wilson, Mike Humphries, DJ Rush, Neil Landstrum, Kari Lekebusch, and many many more... (TONS of great artists out there)

The fact that it IS underground makes it even better.... Mainstream music is for mainstream minds who NEED other people to tell them what is good.

Yup have you ever seen Mark play live? I *NEVER* miss him if he is in the area.... He's a cool guy and over the years we have developed a good friendship.

If you haven't seen this guy play live, you MUST!!!! He is completely mental.

P.S I notice you are from Wales! I have been to Bangor once. Lovely place and FUN people who know how to party!!!
