No More Cigarettes

Any advice from anyone?

I am in my 30's now and am in the process of giving up smoking.

I am like a zombie at the moment and am craving a smoke so bad but wont give in.

Anything?

I don't want to turn to food!!!

I quit 3 months ago.
I didn't turn to food, but I'm not a great example because I have a poor appetite to begin with.

I was doing homeopathy and I just woke up one day and stopped. I'm 41 and smoked since I was 13.
Was it the homeopathy? Maybe, but I just stopped and didn't crave it at all.

I know many people who quit by using hypnosis. Trying to quash a craving is so hard. It has to be a whole mind shift to quit.

Others here have quit with success, I hope they have some better advice

Thanks blueta2,

I have tried quitting before but the truth was my heart was never really in it. This time around it is time to quit. I am not getting any younger and realise it does nothing but bad to my body.

Well done on quitting - I hope I keep my promise up to!

Thanks....I tried many times over the yrs as well, this one stuck
One will stick for you. The will to quit is a start. You will do it!

Good luck

I was able to quit. It was hard at first, but it made it easier when the new group of people I started hanging with didn't smoke. It is always hard when you have to try and quit around people that are still smoking around you.

Good luck!!

Change your patterns. There are triggers you have like eating, taking breaks etc. that are times when you would normally smoke. When you encounter these times you just have to change the pattern somehow so your brain doesn't think of smoking.

My buddy used to run around the block when he wanted a smoke and now he runs marathons.

Cool - thanks for all this info. Am going to try my best but rather than running marathons, my wish is to put on another 10lbs :D

You're weak! Throw in the towel!

I smoked for 13 years. I quit using Zyban. It worked great for me and I didn't have some of the horror story side effects.
