No knurling problem!

I just got back from NY after a month and got back to my old gym with no knurling on any of the bars. So my question is how the hell do I work around this? Before now I just never did deads and soon realized that was a bad decision. My one thought was to just put some of that grip stuff on the bar like used on baseball bats and tennis rackets, but I'm not sure how this would work or what kind would work best. I understand u don't really have to have it, but I don't want to have to use straps way under my max.
 
Try some of that no slip tape they put on skateboards. Is almost seems like 120 grit sandpaper. When you wrap it, wrap it around the bar in the opposite direction you would wrap your straps.

First of all try chalk, that should help quite a bit. But how the hell do all the bars have no knurling? I honestly havent seen any that have NO knurling, shitty worn out knurling yes but not just a slick bar.

I've got a 2" slick bar. You strong man types like 'em for axle pulls & grip work.

I was gonna say except axel but an axel is not supposed to have knurling on it so.....
 
Well they didn't come that way, but they sure look like it. Most of the bars are completely slick and there are a few that have a bit of knurling in places, but it doesn't help much. Guess that's what I get for paying a $10 dollar a month membership. They even started keeping the A/C at like 85 so it's killing my workouts, especially after just getting to Texas from NY. I guess I'll try the skateboard stuff and just sneak it on when they aren't looking and I got a few bars to practice on at home.
 
I gotta go buy some and I just hope academy carries it. I know they don't carry dip belts or anything else I want or need to buy
