ok, it looks like OAS wants to form a committee so we can go through with new applicants.

He said the elders should have a say: DB and SSS

The rest of the committee to be made up of: Sorearms, TPQew and myself.

And I think Sawastea goes without saying.

So if we want to go forward with new applicants I think a vote comprised of those people should decide, as long as the applicant has fulfilled the entry requirements set forth when the church formed. And if nobody has any objections I would like hamstershaver to take my place on the committee for a few reasons. If he doesn't want the position I will keep it.

Sound good to everybody?

As Hall Monitor I would like to state my concerns about security when a group of people get together like this. Things get out of hand rather quickly and riots soon ensue. I STRONGLY suggest this be reconsidered. My job is keeping things flowing smoothly and I will not have things get out of hand.

Please understand this is for the good of the church.

I removed mine when this whole karma power struggle started and digger was using the titles of the karmic church as a sorry ass excuse for why the threads should be shut down. I wasn't going to have a title for a group started in fun be used as pissant ammunition for that rediculous power struggle.

I haven't figured out if it has settled down enough yet to where I can put it up and not be impugned in declaring a thread a karma thread.

This thread has lasted a wile now. A lot longer than any previous church thread.
 
I do like the thought of everyone voting, but it would be hard to get everyone on here to vote within a given time since some people only come on here once or twice a week. Unless you made it where prospective applicants needed a 25% vote from all members or even maybe 50% of the members' votes, and then if it passes the majority it would go to the committee for approval. After it goes to the committee, if they for some reason don't agree, then it goes back to the members where the applicant would need a 75% yes vote from members.

This is just a thought/idea of mine, it isn't something I am pushing to happen. Pretty much like our government when trying to pass a law. Any comments? Other than I am completely insane for this...

But on the other hand, I tend to think that since this is a "church" that all should be welcome as long as they aren't trying to join just to ruin the peace of the church.

It just seems too complicated to have all this committee, voting, yay, nay crap.

But I do think we need to have some criteria. They should demonstrate their karmic worthiness before they are even considered.

But I think members should be able to speak up if they have any objections, beefs, or anything else for that matter, regarding an applicant.

I just learned from another post that Mr. Db is in the hospital. I am not sure how serious it is but I read that it's heart problems.

Thanks for the well-wishes, fellow parishioners.

Yesterday morning, I thought I was having a heart attack, so I went to the ER. Lemme tell you, when you use the words "chest pain" at the counter of an Emergency Room, you get quick service.

It appears that I was just having a high blood pressure crisis. My blood enzymes and chest film looked good. I had a stress test this morning, haven't heard the results yet.
