Nicotinic Acid!!!

I took 500mg Nicotinic Acid timed release pills and had one yesterday and today. Today, about after 30min. all of the sudden my body, especially my head and neck felt like the'yd just been sunburned from a tanning bed. I looked in the rearview mirror and my face was flushed red and my arms were even red too??! It went away after about 15 min. Is this normal, I only took 500mg, has this happened to you? Thanks

Yes, it's perfectly normal and your body should adapt to that within a short period of time. 1,500 mgs ED is the effective range in regards to cholesterol management. Slowly work your way up. If this flushing does in fact become a problem for you, simply purchase the amide version, Niacinamide, which is the no flush version.

HAH!! We used to give niacin to people in High school telling them itd make em high, next thing you know they are sitting in class beat red.
I had a friend joke sell some niacin telling cop friend that it was testosterone tabs, he took it for a week, since he read that test can cause flushing somewhere he thought it was real for sure. I can picture him right now beat fking red saying that he can feel it working LOL
Its completely normal and when we were punks along time ago we thought it was hilarious.

You've got to start out with a low dose and build up slowly. The first time I used it, it felt like I was on fire. Cut my dose in half, same thing. Quartered it, felt fine. Now I'm back up to my original dose and barely flush at all.

I take it primarily when I'm ON because that's when my lipid profile get focked up.
