NFL Linebackers

Ray Lewis- The best, period. The best linebacker I've seen since LT. Incredible range and intensity, literally unblockable. He makes all the plays that Mike Singletary made, then he makes big plays too. I remember being impressed with him when he was a 220 lb freshman at Miami. He kills people on and off the field.

Derrick Brooks- Perhaps the fastest linebacker I've seen. The best at defending the pass. Had some trouble against the run early on in his career, but has gotten stronger and is awesome against it now. Was a huge palymaker at FSU, it seemed he scored a TD every other game one year.

Zack Thomas- Great range and instincts. He gets more out of his ability than any player I have ever seen. Is always in the right place at the right time.

Junior Seau- Getting old, but still effective. Had great speed, size, and strength. Has to be considered among the top 10 LB's to ever play the game.

Jesse Armstead- Fast and strong. Very good against the pass and run. It seems linebackers from FLorida colleges just seem to dominate

Other guys on the rise- Jeremiah Trotter, Dexter Coakley- Trotter is strong against the run and Coakley is maybe as fast as Brooks.

I think Lavar Arrington has awesome physical tools, lets see if he can put it together on the field.

I love Dwayne Rudd and Ed McDaniel of the Vikings..two underrated LB's in the NFC central...

Another guy I think is nasty when hes on top of his game is Bill Romanowski...he is a hard core player..i mean he dont take shit from nobody and I prolly wouldnt like him as a person in real life, but as a player on the field I respect him..

plus he always gets busted for controlled drugs heheh to "enhance" his athletic performance...at least he isnt in denial.

randal godfrey, he is a man vs. the run... he hits too..

donne edwards of the chiefs is a fast one too,

peter boulware is awesome, if it wasnt for lewis he would get so much more credit... if the ravens weren't in the superbowl last year lewis would have killed two more people and boulware would get his fame he deserved.

levon kirkland- not what he once was with the steelers but he should do well in seattle... HE IS HUGE!!!

rudd is no longer a viking, he knew that defense was horrid and got the fuck out of town.

You see him tip off that pass in the 2nd I think? He's everwhere!!!...I love him.....:google:

thomas is such an overachiever its funny.. you watch him and think "scrub".... he looks slow, but next thing you know he is tackling a 3rd down back on one side of the field and a power back in the middle, then a TE on the other side of the field... i think he is in the mafia and they have games fixed... they tell him where the plays are going.

jason gildon is gonna be huge for pitt this year.

I almost forgot...Brian Urlacher was awesome last year, he appears to have all the tools, I look forward to seeing more of him this year.

1 Ray Lewis
2 Derrick Brooks
3 Brian Urlacher
4 Dwayne Rudd
5 Junior Seau - starting to lose a step

urlacher is good dont get me wrong but he plays on a incredibly shitty defense so it just makes him look better
my favs are romanowski
and i like jeremiah trotter that boy can play.
katzemoyer isnt good anymore hasnt been since junior year in college
dan morgan will be decent this year but he has too much heart and not athletic ability i hope he does great tho

oh yea and the reason why florida college players r so good is cause they practice in a sandbox everyday drivin sleds and runing, now that will make u fast. their conditioning is top notch

I'm pretty sure it's a little more than that. recruiting maybe????

haha recruiting is important, but their training is what seperates them from the other schools, also floirda teams are willing to give up a lil size in order to have more speed. trust me i kno every top floirda program pretty well

florida players dont run and conidition year round they condition 9 out of 12 months. also they go thru phases where theyll have agility month then conditioning month.

Derrick Brooks
Brian Urlacher
Victor Green
Jason Gildon
Sam Cowart
Ray Lewis
Stephen Boyd
Levon Kirkland
L.T. on coke
Peter Boulware

Got to agree with Madbomber on Thomas... Funny shit mb.

Urlacher is pretty damn good.

Sam Cowart has tremendous ability. He was having an awesome season last year before getting hurt. He bounced back from reconstructive knee surgery better than just about anyone I've seen when he blew out his knee his junior year in college.

I look for Dan Morgan to have a great year for a rookie. He has the speed to run down RB's and WR's from side line to side line.

Randall Godfrey is a run stoping machine. Look for him to increase his interception stats with Kearse, Carter, and Evans applying more pressure to the QB and allowing less time for opposing offenses to get situtated.

Julian Peterson for the 49er's had great stats last year for playing in 13 games and starting seven. I look for him to step up this year.

Charlie Clemons providing he's fully recovered from his achilles injury could have a good year as well along with Darrin Smith.

Yup Yup.....he's so damn good:)

Dexter Coakley 550lbs bench with a pause!!!!!!!!!!

Rumored to have 4.5 - 4.6 speed/ I question that.:D

I hate the cowboys, but Coakley is fucking amazingly fast and is going to be a great LB. He is great at crushing the RB or FB when its pitched to them. He detroyed Terrel Davis, I think on MNF, and took his helmet off. I was in fucking awe.

I got nothing but love for Trottier. He's going to be awesome as well.

E-A-G-L-E-S EAGLES!!!!!!

Hell I think Coakley ran in the 4.4's at the combine, he is blazing fast for a LB. I'd have to see the 550 Bench Press...

actually, i would imagine dallas' camp increased some stats... either that or he and larry allen share a bottle of "asprin" every day.

i think teams could take advantage of lewis' aggressiveness with a lot of counter type plays... but they cant!!! because the rest of the defense is so fucking good too.

eddie g and lewis gotta meet up again this year... hopefully it ends up different than last time.

I think Peter Boulware has some great tools, but he is a much better passrusher than anything else. His all around game could use some work. I rememeber when he was a 6'4 215 freshamn at FSU, benching about 300. He has always had great speed, though.

Beside Ray Lewis only Steelers or former Steelers should be mentioned.

Kirkland
Gildon
Chad ... and all of the other steelers hehehe
