NFL Europe

actually, to me its like a bad WAC game on espn at 1 a.m.

Arena league is much more entertaining.

What pisses me off, personally, is these Denver backup QBs who keep stepping up, but are worthless in the real NFL. Last year it was Jarious Jackson, this year it's Husak. NFL Europe is false hope for these 3rd rate players.

This thread reminds me, I need 270 more posts until I can post my Broncos avatar. That way, I won't look like a bandwagon fan when they win the superbowl in January.:D :D

Denver's expansion arena team begins play in spring of 2003. With a brand new NBC contract, the league is exploding, adding at least 4 and as many as 7 teams next year. As for Jarious, I think he is a very solid backup who will be starting for an NFL team in the not-too-distant future. Rumor from sources in the know even suggest if griese doesn't really step up his play, jarious may get the nod sometime this season.

Other than that, I agree that NFL Europe does nothing for the vast majority of players. Most professional coaches and agents will tell you if you're not a lineman, its a total waste. The NFL's plan is to exercise its option to purchase 49% of the Arena league, drop NFL Europe, buy out the CFL, and incorporate those cities into the Arena League which will change its name to NFL Indoors. Eventually there will be an Arena team in every city with an NFL team (plus a number of cities without one), acting as a sort of farm system.

xfl put a few players back in the NFL...

nfl europe has helped a few guys make teams.... no BIG timers but the eagles have a few guys that played in europe prior to getting on field time with them...

broncos? superbowl? bwahahahaha

XFL players haven't done anything. Look at the MVP Tommy Maddox. That guy has been a non-ending case of severe football underachievement since leaving UCLA.

And madbomber, why do you have to hate on the Broncos? They're an AFC team, opposed to your Eagles. There's really no dominant team in the AFC, certainly not New England. I think if the Broncos and Titans can recover from last year's injuries, they are right up there with Pitt, the Pats, and Raiders.
