NFL Draft this weekend

Carson Palmer is NOT worth the #1 pick. Mark my words, he'll be the biggest bust since, dare I say.....Ryan Leaf. Oh well, Bengals will always be the Bungles.

Lions (holla) have the #2 pick and will mos definitely take Rogers. Harrington now has a big name receiver he can throw to. It's scary how good this team will be if they both live up to their potential. I'm predicting the Lions to be in the playoffs w/in 2 years and they'll be in the Super Bowl by 2007. Yeah, I said it.

It'll be interesting to see who drafts McGahee. Most analysts are saying he'll go to the Raiders or Eagles in the 1st round. That'd be a steal if he is recovering as well as they say.

So, where does your team need to upgrade? Who aery ou hoping they pick?

Broncoes may be in need of a new coach. Their new quarterback has peoples hopes up. Griese lacked leadership abilities.

They played harder at the old stadium.

Big time high draft Qb's haven't really done anything at all in the past decade except for Peyton Manning. Look at the league's top qbs. none are high draft picks except Manning. Just due to that, I wouldn't draft Palmer. He didn't do it for four years. I do think he is a good player, it's obvious, but he has some of the recipes for a bust.

McGahee was the perfect NFL back before he got hurt. If he is anywhere near where he was, he'll rock. He had it all.

The Dolphins don't really need too much. Maybe another receiver and some Offensive line help. If they wouldn't have fell asleep at the end of last year they would have had a good chance.

Palmer will be another Jake Plummer....not a complete bust, he'll do something for a little bit then we'll forget all about him.
His attitude is too good be another Ryan Leaf.
Put jake plummer behind a halfway decent line, with some receivers that are good at catching footballs, and have a running game that poses a danger and I bet he will do well, very well actually. I think hes is gonna take the Broncos to the playoffs at least next year.

I want the Pats to get a good running back, I'd like to see them get Larry Johnson from Penn, but that won't happen!!! They also need some help on the line, some big beef brains would be a good idea!!!

What about Vick, McNabb, Culpepper?

I bet the Pat's only ambition in the draft is to try to move up and pick whoever they think the Jets will take...;)

i actually got drafted in the 7th round of the 2001 draft by the detroit lions... blew out my knee in camp and now i am back in school for my masters :)

In the historical landscape of the game, the greatest qb's are known for winning in the playoffs and in superbowls. McNabb has won a few playoff gmaes and Vick won one game last year. I'd like to see them bulid on that and in regards to Peyton Manning and Culpepper, until they start winning and take their teams in the playoffs and potentially a conference championship or superbowl, neither will is a great quarterback IMO.

the lions didn't have a 2001 pick in the 7th round. They traded it to new england. i think new england picked a kicker. the lions did pick a lb in the 6th rd from either texas or texas a+m who got hurt, if thats you sorry you got hurt. sorry for this useless knowledge.

Oh boy, another Jets fan!!!
Yes sir, turning into a great rivalry don't you think? I think those are some of the best games now. And the Pats did move up last year 1 spot in front of the Jets and took a tightend that they thought the Jets wanted, which left the Jets to pick Lamont Jordan...thank you..

I agree 100%. The best games were with-in our whole division. Everytime the Pats played the Jets or the Fish, they were great games, we'll except of course the first game which the Pats routed the Jets real bad, but then they got even at the end of the season. I fuckin hate the Jets too, but Chad is a great player!!!

It's not the Pats that bother me it's Bill Behlisukk. He's an exellent def coor. But the way he left the Jets sucked.
Chads the man yo...

What's really gonna suck this year is how good the Cowboys will be. Ahhhh the fucking TUNA!!!

I know, but the Jets are going to host the 'boy this year, and I can't fuckin wait. Nothing less then a shredding of the 'boys will suit me. They aren't a division foe so I don't think there should be any letting up in that game. Tuna will pull every trick in the book in that game too I'm sure.
What's the talk of who the Pat's will take in the draft?

I'm not really sure actually, but Brady made a ballsy move buy taking the minimum pay for a player so they can spend more money on the new guys!!! Brady is only making around $400K this year, I love that fucking guy!!!

Must be making a lot of money on endorsements. I'd like to see the Jets get that CB Newberry. I think thats his name. Or a decent def. tackle.

It's not really THAT ballsy if the money is simply deferred and guaranteed later on. Heck, if they bring in more offense he gets to pad his stats for an even bigger renegotiation next time.

That's so sweet!!!

The Browns have several needs including a shutdown corner and a pass-rushing end, but w/ their draft position they won't be able to get one of these. The also need linebackers and an offensive tackle, and there are several option that might be available w/ the 21st pick. I'm hoping they can either get EJ Henderson from Maryland or Kwame Harris of Stanford or maybe even Eric Steinbach from Iowa.

The problem w/ the Lions is that Matt Millen is their president. The only good move he has made is getting Mariucci, but that might be enough to save his job. The guy has no experience in football operations and has made so many mistakes. The Lions went from a brink playoff team to one of the worst teams in the NFL.

The Browns getting rid if Rudd improved their chances of winning by itself. I think the Browns will be very competetive this year.

Hey Patsfan, I lived is Syracuse for a while, at the same time Dick Macphearson (sp?) left Syracuse to coach the Pats. Anyway I'm on the roof of a bowling alley retarring it and I look down and Dick comes out. I'm like what the fuck is this dude doing back here in a bowling alley. So I hop down and start talking to him. He said he was giving a speach to a woman's club. We talked for a while b'sing. He said he didn't think the pro's were for him. I was surprised to hear him say that but he was right.

You should've punched him in da face!!!

I think this will be the best WR and QB draft in a long time. As a jets fan i am hoping the jets are smart enough to take kelly washington from tennessee at WR. Here is how i view the draft.

The best players in this draft will end up being:
QB-Leftwich
RB- Mcgahee
WR- Rogers will be stud!
Best Defensive player will be jimmy kennedy,

The most overrated players
QB- Palmer, Boller
WR- Andre johnson. MAJOR bust. No hands! And tyler jacobs is also overrated.

Some sleepers
kelly washington of tennessee- he will be a stud reciever.
Mike doss from Ohio st.
Anquan Boldin Wideout from Fl. st.
Dave ragone and chris simms will both be starters!

I'd like the Jets to add to the reciever corps. also but not to many recievers contribute in their first year. K. Washington only played 16 games in college. 16 games is not a resume. I'd rather get CB Newman or a def. tackle stud. Glaring need is linebacker. I think a fast strongside linebacker must be picked in the first round.

Gilly, do you think the Jets will take Boss Bailey w/ one of their picks? I didn't see him play in college, but I heard he can't tackle, so I'm wary of him.

I do think that the Jets need to get a receiver to replace Coles who I like a lot, but not at the price the Redskins paid for him. I always felt the Jets needed a bigger receiver to complement their existing receiving corps. K. Washington has question marks in terms of physical health and maturity, but if they took him w/ their 1st round picks it would be too high.

Boss is da Boss. In my opinion if the Jets cant get one of the top 3 def tackles with the #13 pick they should take Bailey. From reading about the Jets draft stratagy, I believe they want a top def tackle with #13 and Bailey with #22, if possible. But I dont think Bailey will be there at #22. Who knows?

All I know is anybody who gets drafted by the phil. stinkgles is doomed to never win a championship unless they go to another team of course. If I got drafted by the iggles, I would refuse to play for them and demand to be traded.

there is a guy from mars hill, a lbacker that a lot of scouts are going crazy over, maybe a 2nd rd pick.
mars hill is a little d2 school in western nc.
great school, took a recrt. trip there once.
