Newsgroups and different files

I just found out about newsgroups and how to use them but it is all new to me. I joined giganews for $12 a month and im gonna see how it goes. I joined in the firstplace since i can get the howard stern show with no commercials i download the show and go to the gym with it on my mp3 player, it works for me.

So i notice i can get some music files and some i cant. I get encoding errors , (what causes this) and also some are rar or par files. What is this and how do u get rar and par files to work both music and video??

Is there a free tool?

Does anyone else use newsgroups, what are the good groups to checkout?

Im giving up on kazaa lite cause its slow these days and also it gets flooded with bad music files, u know tyhat song that plays then blows out your fucking ears with the screeching.

Worst case senario i get my stern show fix, i could give a shit about all the other stuff but figure ill give it a try if i learn about it all.

i use a cracked ver of newsbin pro, it automatically decodes the files, so i dont know why u r getting the errors, rar files are the ones with the actual files in them, the par files are used to repair the rar files if you get a corrupt rar or something,i dont download the .par's, newzbin.com has a list of current files on diff groups

Xnews is very good. And it's free. It read Yenc with easy. I would have went with usenetserver since it is unlimited but since you are downloading MP3s maybe the $12 Giganews is enough. Giganews is the best but it is very expensive. There is a lot I could explain but I thing it's best you read this usenet guide first and then see what questions you still have
