Newly Diagnosed HIV+

New member
Hi Everyone,
Just found out i was HIV postive Strain1, contracted from a long term ex girlfriend who failed to tell me, or didnt feel it relevant to let me know of her status. 25 years old with a CD4 Count of around 700, which i am told is good..Also been into the gym for a while and have done courses of steroids and HGH. Could anyone possibly give me any advice on what a course of S would have on my body now being newly diagnosed...Any information would be gratefully appreciated...

SORRY to hear that, that is so FUCKED UP!!! You should talk to your Dr. about that. I wouldn't mess around esp. since you were just diagnosed. I know that Tests and HGH could be prescribed to counteract weight, strength and fatigue loss. GOOD LUCK and get back to us.

if you start having wasting effects from the disease, they will put you on steroids and GH among other things..

sorry for your loss

The atlanta ga area has some really good doctors regarding treatment for patients with aids..

Hi Guys Thanks for the advise, i have also been doing a little research and aparently steroids could increase your CD4 count ("helper" cells that initiate the body's response to invading micro-organisms such as viruses), but not sure what the effects would have in the long run...Cheers people, things get thrown at you in life and the only way is to deal with them and move on,,,one thing since i was diagnosed before christmas is to really concentrate on my health and try and get myself into tip top condition, oh and always use a glove....again, thanks and happy training

Simon

Hey Simon,

Sorry to hear of your situation. Keep a poistive mental attitude and you will be fine! I will continue to pray for you and your journey. Here is a great article by a guy in your shoes that will inspire and motivate you toward steroid therapy. I have an appointment with the Dr. In the article about some joint pain I am having. Nothing as serious as HIV but I will let you know how it goes. She is supposed to be very Pro-Steroid!

Here's the link to the article: http://www.outsmartmagazine.com/issue/i03-00/nelson.html

Peace

Wow, thanks for that link, i can almost relate to most of it, gives you hope that some things are worth fighting, getting fitter is my ultimate goal, hopefully that would put me in good sted for a relatively normal lifespan,,well hopefully....some obsticles i have overcome, have sorted my diet out (when training before didnt use to eat proberley and could of definately had better gains, ate clean, just not enough), food that interacts with things suggested by hiv counsellors, just trying to find a challenging program thats going to allow me to start getting my ass into gear, getting my mind of things and start seeing some results, something realitively understandable...all symptoms he descibed in his article have been felt, initally thats a seroconversion, but i think the worst is over....thanks for that, really has made me feel alot better and yeah do let me know how you get on....simon

Good luck to you Simon. Stay strong. I think your doctor will get you on the test and HGH. If you have any questions or need to talk, just make a thread in the C&C. Lots of good bros here.

"Lots of good guys on here"

Hey i have noticed, to be honest i was a bit unsure as to wether to post the original question up as some people are either shit scared of HIV (like i was before i become positive), or just think people who are infected, should of gloved up so its their own prob...in some cases their right, but still no one deserves anything like this, we all make mistakes. (not many of us would think about testing their partner before unsafe sex, we dont feel that it would effect us....) I didnt know what peoples reactions would be.
Everyones been really supportive and helpfull, again thanks to everyone who has taken the time, to get me on track with my own initial fitness...

Good luck to you all....

Simon, read thru the Stickys at the top of the HIV and AS page. And Get the 3RD edition of Built To Survive and commit it to memory.

Also, read every new copy of POZ, A&U & HIV+.

Thanks! Alan Chiras.

how is the HIV treatment in the UK vs the states? is moving to a socialized country better if you are HIV +?
