new truck.....opinions

I am thinking about selling/trading in my 98 grand cherokee for a truck, either ford or dodge. Does anyone have any experiences with either or know what is good in terms of engine/drivetrain reliability? I want to get a V8 (a 4.0 I6 is in my jeep now).
Thanks.

I have a '02 Dodge Ram 4x4. I purchased mine because my '95 Ram never gave me any problems. I'm going on two years with the '02 and so far it's only been in for oil changes and tire rotations, not one problem yet.

Mines the 4.7 V8, but the 5.7 Hemi has 345 hp and 375 ft-lbs or torque.

If you really wanted to you could always wait for the New F150 coming next month. Or you might be able to get some real good deals of the old F-150 once the new ones come out.

Depends on what you are looking for......in a shootout between the Ford 5.4L, Dodge 5.7L, and Chevy 6.0L the Ford beat the other two in towing capacity, I believe fuel mileage, and most other categories......the Dodge won the 1/4 mile. I believe the Ford is the best deal. While saying that, and owning one, I still like the looks better on the Dodge and Chevy.

Don't buy a brand new Model vehicle of any Manufacturer.
They have issues almost always and it takes a year of so to
find them and work them out...

I do not care for either Dodge or Ford so I can't give any input on them. Chevy or better yet GMC are my preference.

Have you driven the V8 Tundra ?
If you do, you will see it is worth every penny...

Y is right about the 1st year models....

But the Tundra is uglier than a child produced by Bullit and Rosie O'donell.

I will agree the Tundra is not the best looking truck but damn,
it isn't hideous as that child would be. Nissan is supposed to
be coming out with a new Full size truck that looks interesting.

I say Buy the older F150 since they're so cheap right now. Save yourself some cash.

The Tundra is very limited on what you can get. Dodge, Ford and Chebby all have more flexibility with options and trims.

Thanks, I'll remember that. :)
