New training journal, cycle and routine from Dave Draper...

Well, first off I'm glad to see so many people now doing 5x5 programs, hst and dual factor. I guess Joe Weider, and the guys from the 40's-early 90's really did know what they were talking about! It's ashame it took us all so long to catch onto such old information though. Oh well, nothing like the present to move forward. Here's the low down: 24, 6'4 242lbs, 7%. I just cut down from 272lbs, and I've been upwards of 280. I started at 18 at 144.5lbs. An injury two years ago kept me back for a bit, so I never did reach my ultimate goal of 300-320lbs with fairly low bodyfat. So, here I go!

Cycle: 750mgs test e wks 1-10, 500mgs eq wks 1-10, slin 2-10 ius post workout only (working my way up slowly from 2ius to 10) weeks 1-4.

Diet: clean but lot's of food. It's really important to keep the diet low in fat just before and after the slin shots, unless you want to look like the staypuft mashmellow man, lol. About 400 grams of protein a day, HIGH carbs, lot's of meat, chicken, brown rice, yams, eggs, milk etc. Shakes of course between meals. I love a good 4 scoops per shake,get's me going. And of course the high carb(dextrose) and whey post w/o post slin shake.

Routine: Monday: Squats 5x6, chins 4xmax, bent over rows 4x8
Wednesday: bench press 5x5, clean and presses 4x6. Ext. torso work: weighted hypers, roman chair situps, rope tucks.
Friday: Deadlifts 5x5, barbell curls 4x6, dips 4xmax (I usually work my way up to 110lbs around my waist when i get to the 260lb range in body weight for 8-12 reps. so who knows what I'll be able to do right now that i cut down. really hits those delts, pecs and tris), bar hangs 3xmax (adding weight to a belt each week.) various other grip work,etc.

I might throw in some donkey calf raises, they burn up my calf muscles pretty good. Looking to hit 280-285 this time around. Wish me luck!!
 
No, I have never used slin before. It scared and still does scare the shit out of me. I've done two years of researh on it before finally working up the nerve to try it. I'm going to have a couple of people monitor me at all times, and take blood glucose level readings after ever shot,plus stop watch it from the time inject it. It's humalin r which is 4-6 hours, which is the reason why I want to time it. I'm not going to take any chances with this stuff! Also, I'm going to work up the dose SLOWLY. I see a lot of people putting on a good 20lbs quickly with this stuff, so we'll see!

I know I haven't posted that much lately, especially in the past year. To be honest,I was ashamed that I didn't reach my 2003/4 goal of 300lbs. I was so close, I could taste it lol. But now I'm back on track and going at it full force!!

ps. I don't know about those 100 rep shock sets! never tried anything like that! Sounds intense. I know Steve Reeves used to do 100 rep squats when he was in the army,because of limited weight and equipment,and he wrote it would wipe him out for days.
 
Well, everythings in place, I start the mass diet, and eq/test e inj. tonight. Tomorrow is the first slin shot and workout. Here we go!!!!!!!
 
I had to replan and start everything today as some things came up at work. So, tomorrow is the first slin shot. I will post the feed back then. :)
 
Sorry I haven't updated, I had to delay the start of my program because my wife came down with a horrible flu, and of course I got it as well. I refuse to go to the gym while sick, not only would it slow down my healing, but it's unfair to possibly get other gym members sick.

My chest still feels a bit 'loose' but the doc said I should be all good in a few more days. It was a good thing, because it gave me a chance to get my blood work done (I usually wait until after cycle), but it's always nice to know everythings doing good on the inside lol :)

So the official re-start of this log begins monday. As a side note, along with this cycle, I'm going to be taking a few supplements I got as Christmas gifts.

The following I'll be taking along with the other stuff: cee-pro by muscle tech (yeah i know i know, but it was free), glutamine peptides (i got a ton of this stuff. so im going to try something charles glass has all his clients do. take it in the morning with my water/whey wake up shake, before training, after and with my bedtime shake.), cyto-gainer by musclemilk 3 servings a day.

Getting sick really was a blessing, as I sat down and did more and more thinking. The routine I decided is perfect. The only thing I will add is some good ol' fashioned donkey calf raises for 2-3 sets after each workout.

But what I really planned out better, was my diet. I'm going to be consuming A LOT of quality food. It will be fairly clean, but plenty of it. Also I'm throwing in 12.5mcg of t3 a day. I know that makes you less slin sensitive, but a lot of people take a small dose of it, to help with any excess fat slin may cause. And since I'm not a daredevil when it comes to carbs and slin (none of that, let's see what's the min. that won't cause me to go hypo? shit with me),I figure why not.

Due to being ill my new starting weight will be 227lbs, instead of the low 240's. Being able to hold down only a few meals a day will cause you to drop the lbs, and not in a good way!!

So, with the doc's go ahead, and if the chest cold clears up, monday is the day. I'm going to put everything I have into this one. I'm focused like never before, and being away from the gym the past two weeks has only lit a fire deep within that is consuming me. I smell 285 and I *WILL* have it!! I've been upwards of 270 before, so I'm mostly going to be regaining lost mass, plus some extra :p

Guiness, how is your cycle going brother? I hope you are gaining good :) And don't worry once I feel better, you'll see daily updates!LOL

Very well. I'm sorting out a couple squat issues that I wish I would have had squared before I started, but strength is up on pretty much everything else. Squat's gonna jump too. My journal is updated, probably to the point of being tedious, but I like to hear from people so it doesn't bother me. Check it out.

The nice thing about getting sick is that you're gonna throw that weight back on quickly while waiting for the gear to hit, so it won't seem like such a long wait :D
 
Ok so after being extremely sick most of december/early january, going through some emotional crap and drama, I finally started.

I changed the doses around a bit. The test and eq I lowered. Now it's 650 test e, 450 eq. I'm taking all the other stuff daily.

I've been on for 2 1/2 weeks now. The slin is amazing, but after working my way up to the recommended 10iu dose, I felt it was just too much. 8 is where I feel comfy.

I started this cycle at 222lbs. The sickness just sucked all the muscle right off me. When you can only get in a few meals a day, you would be shocked how easy the muscle flys off!! I actually took a pic for motivation. I don't know how to post it though. At 6'4 222lbs, I look PATHETIC. But that pic is motivation to get back to where I was before and BEYOND.

The slin is AMAZING. I haven't weighed myself yet, but I feel and look about 15lbs heavier. It just fills you right out. It's not something I'd recommend unless you do a lot of research on it beforehand and I do mean a lot.

My strength is HORRIBLE. But each session it's coming back slowly but surely. I'm just keeping my form nice and clean.

I'm eating like a horse! I drink a gallon of milk daily, along with tons of food, water, etc.

So far so good. I feel a solid 260-270 out of this one. But then again a lot of it is regaining old mass.

i don't think i will ever have the courage to use slin...
 
Silver, believe you me, you have the *right* idea. This shit scares me silly and I've done two years of research on it before taking the plunge. I even told my doctor I am going to be taking it. I got the glucose meter, the whole nine yards and I'm taking a very low dose, 8iu post workout only, 3 days a week for 4 weeks. And to be honest, I don't think I'll ever use it again. The results are so good, it could easily become something to abused. I don't want that to ever happen. One trip down slin lane was more than good enough for me, and once again, the gains are incredible.
 
i assume you were on gear back when you were around 280lbs...?

how long of a time was it that you lost over 60lbs...? that just seems like an insane amount of weight to lose, and i wonder if that kind of weight loss would not have happened if not for the gear...?

i'm unschooled on the stuff, so i'm just looking to get informed...
