new olympic shoes

hey,

well I finally got my hands on a nice pair of olympic lifting shoes. however, I have a few questions about how this could effect my 3x5 progress.

Will I have to relearn the squat when I hit the gym this wednesday? If so, should I reset the weights down 10%? or more?

what kind of stuff should I keep in mind now that I have these shoes?

any help is appreciated.

I did not find that to be the case at all. It should be easier to stay back on your heels, easier to get lower, easier to maintain balance.... and if you don't feel comfortable for some reason the first sets you'll intuitively feel not to go as heavy for the pr attempt... don't overthink it. just lift:)

I'm so happy I didn't listen to the guys telling me to just get chucks. These shoes make it SO much easier to squat deep and keep your balance. I'll never go back :D :D

not bad! They look good!

pity they don't ship overseas...I need a new pait, mY Addidas are so worn out ;(

well good news! they do ship overseas.

"All prices are in Canadian dollars. We ship domestic & internationally. For orders outside Canada & USA please email us for shipping rates. "

cool. I wore them during my whole workout today...the only thing that sucks is walking around! the heels are so damn high it makes walking a little difficult. :D

I usually wear them for everything also, though I'm training for olympic lifts now. You might consider just going barefoot for Deadlifts, might make it a little easier on you.

I found keeping my back arched a lot easier today wearing the shoes...I don't think I'll go back to flat soled shoes or barefoot.
