I was a member back in 2000 through 2004. I have been out of the lifting lifestyle for about 2 years. In these past two years I went through a divorce and moved. I sold my home which had the basement outfitted with a sick gym and I had everything I needed. I still have most of my equipment but it’s in storage now for the one day in the future where I can get another home with space to set up my iron dungeon. Now I’m lifting in a Gold’s Gym. It isn’t too bad. It’s about ½ mile from my work and if I hit it at the best times it isn’t too crowded. It only has one squat rack but because it’s Golds, there are only people doing curls in it….
There is no reverse hyper machine and the dumbbells only go up to 100lbs. But it is a gym….
I’ve only been back at lifting for about a month. My strength is pitiful but it’s coming back slowly. I’m not a bodybuilder by any stretch. I’m mostly interested in strength training and fact that the gym I’m going to only has one squat rack there is a good chance that my gains will be minimized by the fact that I’ll be lifting alone without a partner and if someone else is using the cage I’m forced to not lift to failure.
Anyway – I just wanted to say hello and I’m excited about being back. I’m going to browse the forums to see what the new fads in lifting/supplements/gear are. I’m not interested in any cycles now. Most likely I’ll make great gains in the next 6 months naturally by muscle memory alone.
