Hello, I'm new to this site 
I'm 5'11, I weigh 228 pounds, and I've decided to make a real effort to get into shape. Regular exercise, improved diet, whatever it takes - the only problem is I know next to nothing about effective exercise and diet, so I've been scouring the internet for any useful information I can find, and fortunately stumbled across this gem of a message board
According to this BMI calculator, I have to lose 50 pounds in order to reach a healthy weight, so that's my first goal. After that, I'll be looking into building a bit of muscle!
If anybody can help me out with a few pointers, some motivational techniques, a good diet and/or exercise plan, helpful links, or anything that could be of use, it would be greatly appreciated.
