New event idea

So yesterday at work I was helping unspool a roll of sewer hose (semi-rigid one and a quarter inch). It weighs about three pounds per foot. So I was holding onto it and backing away kind of like a sled drag. Well as the hose unspools it starts to drag on the ground making it harder to pull. Plus for every foot that's on the ground you have another three pounds. I pulled about 200 or so feet of it out at first meaning I had 600lbs on the ground plus the friction of 190 or so feet that was in contact with the ground. This was hard as hell because it actually becomes heavier and harder to pull after you are starting to fatigue. It ended up bein a 600ft hose and I had to pull it in three sections. My grip, back, legs, and lungs were all trashed.

Cheers,

LMAO! Thinking of strongman events at work! Seems like a good idea. Were you walking back like a sled drag, or kind of standing still?

I was going backwards just like a sled drag. After about 150' I was really struggling and after 200' it was almost impossible to get moving once I stopped. Hey tell me something better to do at work and I'll get right on it ;)

haha definitely sounds like a good workout, and a good way to test skill/strength as a strongman event, as far as grip, legs, back and a little bit of cardio thrown into the mix.
