New Diet.. Thoughts?

hey guys, just starting to get back into the gym and thought I'd start a little healthier diet to go with it. I'm starting the SF 5x5 next week and will use this week to get my numbers to plan the routine. Below is a typical day for the diet I have planned so far. I'm hoping this is enough to help me put on some muscle and also cut a pound or two of fat. I'm in the Army and have weight standards. My current limit for my age and height is 189 pounds. However, if we're overwight we're taped around our waist and neck to find a ratio. Being heavy is ok as long as it's lean and the BF% is low. I think our limit on BF% is 20%. So, it wouldn't be a good idea for me to bulk at first. What do you all think? Any thoughts, ideas or suggestions are greatly appreciated..

I'm male, 5'11", 190lbs, appx 18% BF, 22 yrs old
weights x 3 times a week
cardio x 2 times a week

Meal 1-
Protein Shake w/
Nonfat Milk appx: 690 cals 45 grams protein
1 raw egg
Raw Oats
1 tbsp ANPB

Meal 2-
1 Serving Yogurt
1 Serving Cottage cheese appx: 180 cals 17 grams protein
and/or small fruit serving

Meal 3-
Chicken Breast
Green Veggie (spinach, Brocolli) appx: 380 cals 40 Grams protein
1 whole wheat Tortilla

meal 4-
2 slices whole wheat bread
can tuna appx: 460 cals 50 grams protein
spinach/lettuce
Lowfat cheese

Meal 5 (post workout)-
Protein Shake
1 raw egg appx: 415 cals 40 grams protein
1 tbsp ANPB

total cals= 2100-2200
total protein= appx 190

make up your mind about what your real goal is: cutting or bulking? wanting to do BOTH at the same time will only lead to mediocre results in both areas. It is much better to decide for one and aim with all you have towards it.

5x5 requires that you eat a LOT if you really want to see improvementrs in strenght... it is not a cosmetic routine but one aimed at your core-strenght, muscles you don't see.

so. what is it going to be? cutting or bulking? Diet and training will vary according to that

Thanks for the reply Pintoca. I'm kinda in a dilemma about what to do. The army regulates my weight so that is a problem for me. However, my weight is not a problem as long my BF% is not over 20%.

I get weighed in tomorrow morning and will not be weighed again for the next 6 months.

After debating with myself for the last few seconds, I say FUCK IT! I'm hittin it hard and gonna gain as much as possible. I'm gonna use your bulking calculator to figure up my calories and stay with a clean diet. With that in mind.. I hope my diet is looking ok. I'll probably throw in one more meal than what is listed above though. Thanks again..

my only comment is that you're keeping all your meals around 40-50 g of protein... except for that of meal 2 which is 17g... maybe you can add a protein shake to have a regular 40-50g for all meals

hey guys.. I had my weigh in this morning and I weighed 189 which is my limit for my age and height. So my mind is made up.. I'm gonna play HARDCORE for the next few months and BULK!

I'll prob keep about the same diet as above, throw in another shake.. a couple tspns ANPB and hit the weights full force. Also, where is the best place to get Flax seed oil online?

Thanks..
