New cpu, can't see ".gif" files anymore. Help?!?!?

I just got a new cpu and now I can't see the smilies moving anymore. Is this in my internet options, or my windows media options? Or do I have to download something else?? any help much appreciated, thanks

Did you do a new XP install when you changed CPU's? Sorry had to ask. I'll have to think why you can't see them, I'm thinking a security setting.
