wow that still means it is in the U.S. and has not made it to customs. It took my package around 4 days to get to customs and then another 4 days to arrive to my place.

That doesn't actually necessarily mean it hasn't made it through customs yet. Like I said, it still said that "USPS was electronically notified to expect the package for mailing ..." even after I had received my package. That message means almost nothing as far as I can tell.
Don't lose hope bro!
