ok im not real familer with lifting but i have a bowflex and i have been working out on it every other day for about 2 months now and i can see some results i was just wondering what i should do on it to get big biceps and abs i work out on it every other day for atleast an hour sometimes 2 hours should i work out longer or what do i need to do?

#1. get a gym membership or buy a texas bar, weights, power rack, and adjustable bench.
#2. Sell the bowflex, it is only slowing you down.
#3. Read the stickes at the top of this forum for ideas on how to lift weights without wasting your time.

#B To get big abs you need to eat more.

alright dude thanks man i had no idea i was wasting time with the bowflex i actually thought it was better than a regular bench and stuff

I wouldn't say you've wasted your time on the bowflex. It's shown you that you enjoy working out and given you the appetite for more. It's time now to pass it onto someone else while you take the next step.

You really can't beat barbell work for overall development. The five basic exercises of Squat, Bench Press, Deadlift, Overhead Press and Bent-Over Rowing will work the whole body. There are some basic technical skills to learn to perform the exercises safely but they are easily mastered and you'll be astonished at the progress you'll make. Don't be tempted to use a Smith machine if you join the gym. It's no substitute for a free barbell and will only hold you back or, worse, lead you to injury.

If you want to enjoy some general reading, you could do worse than take a look at this site from Madcow:

The book starting strength (from www.startingstrength.com ) comes well-recommended by almost everyone on here, too.

train tricepts as well, they can push your bicepts out. and i don't know about the "eating more" for big abs. maybe if he never wants to see his big abs. what if he eats 5000 cals of pizza everyday? you need to eat clean, lean protein, green veggies, healthy fats. a lot of people overtrain abs as well, train them like you would anything else. weighted reps, never more than 15 rep sets. i usually stick to around 8-10. core stabilization is a good place to start, work it from the inside out.

he probably won't have to worry about triceps at this point, as he's stated that he's fairly new to working out. Bench, OH pressing, and all the other basic lifts will make his arms grow at this point. If he wants to though, he can go ahead and throw in some pull-ups or CG presses.
