need to remember post from 2 years back - about powerful army

yeh a long shot here but im trying to remember this post from about 2 years ago on here.

someone made a post about this old army (from long ago) who were a bunch of bad asses. and he included a story in the post about how one time they were down at the beach (i thinK) and collecting something and one of the soldiers found this creature and put it under his uniform and then one of his superiors came to talk to him and when he had finished talking the soldier fell down dead because the creature had eaten his entire insides. the soldier showed no sign of pain throughout the whole talk because he couldnt let on anything was wrong because he wasnt allowed to have that creature.

anyone remember this post??? im trying to find out which ARMY it was. thanks !!

It was a spartan boy, not a soldier. Although Sparta did produce one of the best armies in history.

"I can recall one story where they trained them to not show that they were experiencing pain. They also wore red garmets so that if they were injured, they would keep fighting and their opponents couldn't tell if they were causing any harm or not since the blood wouldn't show up and they wouldn't react to pain.
One of the students out on a training run found a baby <some wild animal that has sharp claws and a temper - let's say badger> and decided to make it a pet, but he knew it wouldn't be allowed in the barracks. So he stuck it up under his shirt (his red shirt) and then ran back to the barracks.
As he went back to his room, he ran into a fellow soldier in training and had a discussion with him, laughing and talking. Then suddenly collapsed to the floor dead.
Upon further inspection, once his clothing was lifted, the <whatever animal - badger baby in this case> had clawed him open and torn out his insides during the conversation, yet he showed no pain because he was such a warrior."
