how do you let it get that far like that guy did that you have a huge chunk missing in your arm? Fucking gross and irresponsible. See a doctor if it doesn't subside in 3 days. You know if its bad or not and pretending like it will go away wont make it. That guy had to pay a pretty hefty price.

No, the dude had it cut open, and took the bandage off to take a pic.... It doesn't just OPEN UP like that.... Hence the pic of the bandaged arm..... The only pic there that is pre surgery is the one with the lump in the Tricep....

OK - when should you be concerned about a small lump (how many days)
what to look for (redness, etc)
how long does it typically take for an abcess to form (to where it can be seen?)

Surgeons have to cut the lesion open and let it drain. Its pretty nasty and smells. The reason behind having to leave the lesion open is that the body wont heal itself until it knows that there is no more infection. Oral or IV antibiotics for that matter wont help you because there is no vascularazation to the abcess. If you are hardcore, you can drain them yourself lol, but be ready to scream in pain. What would suck would be getting many abcesses because you rotate your injection sites errrr

But anyway cause i am curious myself, could we stick to the original posters question, stop going off track, anybody have a progession of an abscess

The progression of an abcess are the classic signs of inflammation. Tumor, reddness, warmt and pain. When it gets really bad, youll have a fever and symptoms of other complications from an abcess such as sepsis, infectious endocarditisis, etc. Its like the worst zit youll ever have. I dont think youll find any progression pictures because its usually too late and too far into the course of the disease until the person does anything about it.
