Need help with possible tendonitis

For the past few weeks I've been experiencing pain in my right elbow. It's causing some problems with presses and curls, and the pain continues long after the workout.

This is the same arm that I broke as a kid, which forced me to learn how to do many things left handed. To this day, my left arm is stronger and measures nearly 1/2" bigger than my right. I don't think my right arm, or the tendons, are coming along as quickly as the rest of my upper body - and this is making the situation worse. I've tried adding some additional isolation movements for my right arm.

Does anyone have experience with this? Any suggestions for making this better?

The only thing you can really do bro is get some joint supps. Some that are helpful are Chondroitin, Glucosamine, and MSM. alot of companies make joint supps with all 3 of them in it. GNC also has a version that is pretty good. Another herb called Cissus quadrangularis. it also helps with joint, cartliage, and tendon problems. VPX also makes a topical cream with alot of those ingredients, but I haven't tried it yet. I've got tendonitis in my wrist to the point where I can touch the wrist joint and it gives me instant sharp pain. I'm still able to lift so I just deal with it. Taking joint vitamins are really the only thing to do as far as tendonitis bro. hope that helps

I appreciate the help - thank you!

I'm currently on a cutting cycle, so I'm maintaining strength - not gaining. I can't imagine how this would be during the rapid strength/size gain of a bulking cycle.

I think Cissus is more tendon specific, esp above Glucosamine etc.

I have bad tendon issues, and have been using 10% Cissus extract at 5g per day, and it really does work well.

You would need to buy the powder and cap it as that dose would get very expensive, esp as most formulas use a 5% extract, but well worth it IMO, and I tried everything inc GH, only Cissus has helped.

As you're cutting you're losing muscle. Like it or not. As you lose the muscle you're trying to still lift the same weights and rather than the muscle moving the load you're shifting the load onto the joint and connective tissue that is still underdeveloped as it lags muscle growth. The answer is use less weight and stop trying to convince yourself you're not losing LBM by lifting what you had been lifting.

From an Elite Powerlifter friend of mine:

Here is how to take care of your elbows.

1. Use equiblock dt or stop pain 30 minutes BEFORE training.

2. Use neoprene sleeves.

3. Flush the area with blood as a warm-up(ex. pushdownsx100)

4. Stay away from ACCESSORY movements that severely iritate it (You'll just have to suck it up on ME)

5. Ice for 20 minutes on and 20 minutes off ASAP after workout. Ice is a miracle drug!! Nobody wants to take the time or effort to use it but it actually HEALS the problem. This is the most important step of all. Just put ice in a ziplock baggie and put it on the area that hurts. Ya the ice is gonna be cold and it does hurt for 5 or so minutes but then it will feel good. I also use these velcro ice packs from http://www.sporties.net/Detail.bok?no=16

6. Take 800mg of ibuprofin 3x per day until your problem clears up.

7. Find a good joint support formula such as Joint Complex by Gearman Nutrition at http://www.gearmannutrition.com/news...?page=home.cfm or Syn-Flex and take it religously. It takes a long time to feel the results of this but you will eventually feel them.

8. Supplement your diet with fish oil capsules and Vitamin C these are both natural anti-inflammatories.

9. You must do ALL of these to help, you can't just pick one or two you must do them ALL.

10. You can also do expand your hand bands, wrist curls and hammer curls, all of these make my elbows feel better.

11. For severe issues(I got this tip from Will Smith and it works) Get a big bowl and fill it with ice, water and 2 tablespoons of salt, stick your elbow directly in it and keep it in there for 10 minutes. Dry it off and wrap it with a heating pad for 10 minutes, repeat twice.

12. If you have done all of the above and are still having problems then it's time to take a few days off.

Good Luck and I hope this will help everyone, BDR
